When Inter signed him he was Germany's starting lb. Now he's behind freaking Gunter and Raum who's disappointing at Leipzig. But this has always been the golden rule of NT coaches. If you don't play with your club you don't get called up. It's that simple.

Feel bad for the guy. He’s in shit form and he has limited chance to get on the pitch and do something about it. It’s similar to the Eriksen situation a bit.

Football life is cruel and Gosens receives the full brunt of it. He was a starter for his NT and now he is completely written off from world cup at his prime age. It is very unlikely he will participate at the next WC being 32 years old. What is upsetting is he could be still called up if he left us last summer. We don't know if we persuaded him under false pretense or Gosens screwed up his chance since he cancelled his departure. Even more painful, his malfunctional teammates still get call-ups like Correa, Lukaku, De Vrij, or Dumfries while Gosens still plays well in the limited time and still acts professional as a team member.
