from Fabrizio Romano: Torino are pushing to sign Gosens on loan with an option to buy.
The suggested fee to make the move permanent stands at €7m, but the Bundesliga outfit are hoping for slightly more.

Torino would also have to pay Union a fee to bring Gosens in on loan for the season, and would be responsible for covering his wages in full.

The two sides are expected to continue in their negotiations into the coming week.
That would be such a steal

People who think millionaires can't get depressed don't understand depression.
I think it is more like people think millionaires don't deserve sympathy for getting depression or other problems.

I am not saying the "people" are correct; but my guess on the psychology behind it.

I also think there is a weird trend on hating the rich, assuming rich only got rich due to unethical exploitation on workers or others, when reality is a lot of complicated than that (e.g. Rapid change in technology with the raise of new opportunities and bring values etc.) and a lot of those "people" would do the same if given the opportunity (e.g. Shit-coins, GME etc. These are all wealth transfer instruments without aiding the society in anyway), like I have seen some people that want to "tax the rich" are not some Saint, but some selfish losers or caused by jealousy.

I hate it when capitalism oppresses democracy and vice versa though.

With that said, whether rich deserves sympathy depends on the context, like they definitely have more resources to fix their problems, which doesn't need crowd funding or similar aid that's driven by sympathy, but as social animals some supports are not materialistic. Still in terms of priority they might be lower on the ranking for the dire need of help of others.

Sorry for the long ass random shit, just got into the mood of expressing myself.

@Il Drago was Gosens poor at Union last season or are they just desperate for cash without UCL football?

He had a decent season considering how bad Union were last season. Their new coach also plays with a back 3 so i don't think there are tactical reasons behind the rumours. If i had to make a guess Gosens earns way too much for a club that doesn't play in Europe and perhaps even Gosens himself would like to go to a club with bigger aspirations.

Capology - not necessarily the most accurate source but we all know how difficult it is finding salary figures in this sport - had Union around 9th in Bundesliga wages last season.

Union Berlin was not the 9th-most lucrative club in the league.

Odds are very high they overextended themselves out of an obligation that, being in the Champions League, they owed it to themselves to give it an honest effort. Their 4th place finish in 2022-'23 was an overachievement rooted in unsustainable underlying performance, but nobody expected things to absolutely go sideways they way did, either. Two 4-1 wins to begin the season, a very representative performance at the Bernabéu in the first CL game, and then Urs Fischer never managed another win at the club.

He was called up to Germany NT after Raum injury. Happy for him. First call-up since 2023.
