man, how did FIF go from hating Perisic, to making it sound as if Perisic was a fusion of Dani Alves and Maicon lmao
Would genuinely argue he was top 3 LWBs in the world last year, and I hated him

Prime maicon did it for longer then 6 months.
Sure. That's not really the point, though. The point is we're going to have a hard time replacing those contributions unless others significantly step up.

Depends whether goosens can replicate his 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 form or not. He reaches those heights then it won't be a problem in terms of g/a's.

We will miss Ivan's ability to beat his man with skill.

Yea but we need proper wingbacks to help our strikers to score. Our midfield also lack that. We need players to assist strikers. We were better last season cause we had Perisic. Now we have Gosens who has physical and also mental problem cause of all injuries he had last two years. And we are to lose Dumfries leaving with Bellanova and Darmian. Thats not good enough. Look at fkn rube, Chiesa, Cuntdrado, DiMaria, Kostić is coming, all of these players are better service to striker then any of our current players. Of course we are in deep shit and season is right there.
Perisic had 7assists in Serie A last season whilst Barella and Hakan had 12 each. Not doubting that he was our MVP last season but what are you basing your argument that our medfielders lack assist on?

I have no doubt that Gosens is going to be great this season.

I have doubts that he will regularly play for us.

Probably the worst player on the pitch tonight, but I’m not too worried. I’m happy to give him a few games to get settled.

I think we need to adjust our expectation for Gosens. He's not the kind of player who can dribble past 2 opposition players and creates a play like Perisic. Gosens is exceptionally gifted in getting himself in good position for a cross or a shot. We need to adjust our tactics accordingly. Those on the opposing side (like Skriniar, Brozo and Barella) need to pay special attention to this. Otherwise he'll just run up and down like Nagatomo...

I like the guy, but this was demoralizing for him, probably. He looks lost, Dimarco did more in attack as a LCB than he did as a LWB

The problem is Gosens and Dumfries are very similar player, except Dumfries is faster.

Need replace Darmian with good crossing RWB like Candreva to bring Gosens potential.

I think the concensus here is pretty consistent, he was abysmal and Dimarco was much better than he was. But, I wouldn't bench him for the next few games as we all know how great he can be; he just needs to play more games.

Little early to give up on him, didn't really play last season and this preseason was used sparingly. Giving him to the World Cup break to make a judgment, hoping for the best.

Dumfries struggled during the first month or two but he adjusted. I think it’ll be the same for Gosens. Just gotta have faith in him.
