Inter & Udinese Agree Terms Over Rodrigo De Paul

Inter and Udinese have agreed terms regarding the transfer of Argentinian winger Rodrigo De Paul according to SportItalia’s transfer market expert Alfredo Pedullá.According to the report, the Nerazzurri and the Friuliani have found an agreement which will see the 24 year old winger complete the transfer at the end of the season, when the transfer window reopens in July.Udinese value De Paul at €35 million and Inter have guaranteed the Zebrette to reimburse them around €28-30 million excluding add-on’s who when added on will bring the sum for the player up to the fee asked. The clubs are also discussing the possibility to insert players into the deal as payment, which could bring the cash part of the transfer down, but no decision has been made as to which players Inter are willing to send.Rodrigo De Paul joined Udinese in the summer of 2016 and has since then made 93 appearances across all competitions scoring 14 goals in the process.

Haha we gave him the #10!!!

He is def going to flop now

I blame Zanetti. Thanks for being a club legend but keep him away from transfer market. He goes who is an overrated Argie player no one has ever heard about under 20 million? Ok cool I want him

This is Ausilio's transfer. He's been trying to get De Paul for 3 years now. It probably comes with Marotta's approval as well. [not sure if it's truly a done deal though]

€30m?!

I thought this was a cheap utility player buy, someone who can potentially back up multiple roles. De Paul has played pretty much every role in the midfield and attack in his career, he is the very definition of versatility. I was ok about buying him for 10-15m, which would enable us to sell some expensive bench players. Also because he is Argie, which usually works well for us.

But €30m? If we are willing to spend that kind of money on him at a time when FFP/SA is fucking us, this kid better be fucking good.

Pretty sure this is for the summer which means for July with a new fiscal year when we are out of SA.

But I agree that the price is fucking high, if it ends up being even 30m€ in euros. I keep hope that other report of 18m€ + kid(s).

Besides, De Paul's age is a good age to sell not to buy. Compare this deal with Milan winter signings.

This shows where our problem lies. What is so special about De Paul then or now for Ausilio to follow him?

Wtf are you talking about????

The guy is 24 now, will be 25 by the start of next season. TWENTY FIVE!!!! That means he has at least 5-6 years of this level and he is ENTERING his prime, he's not even at his peak. Peak age on average is between 27-28.

What the fuck are you going on about with this stupid age discrimination? This is the PERFECT age to buy almost any player. The only ones that would be greater at a younger age are those who are lights out world class and you cannot reach them when they come to age and can still offer you a great level of football at a younger age.

I know he is 24 but what if he fails or doesn't deliver? Selling him when he is 26 or 27 would be almost impossible if we bought him for 30m.
How old was Diwara when Napoli bought him?
How old was Icardi or Skriniar when we bought them?

I have no problems with his age, just his price.

Must admit, I haven't noticed him enough to judge him as a player. Which is strange coz he has been playing in Serie A for 3 years now and I watch a shit load of Serie A.

On another note was Alexis Sanchez really far more impressive than de Paul during his Udinese spell? Alexis had a nice last year at Udinese. Before that he wasn't that efficient. And he had di Natale.
De Paul doesn't have much to work with right now. Huge gap of quality between him and his teammates.

Don't even go there. Alexis Sanchez at Udinese was immense and led them to CL with Di Natale. De Paul on the other hand is just their best player during a shitty storm.

You could smell that Alexis Sanchez was world class from his River Plate days even.

Sorry but Sanchez was never world class  good player, but seriously lacking that world class flair and mentality. World class should be reserved for Ronaldinho and Ibra, not Sanchez.

Many players look great in argentina. Does not mean shit.

I'm not sure what your definition of world class is, you're probably interchanging it with elite, which is reserved for a select few.

A world class player is someone who can get himself in the starting lineup of a top team and is coveted by most top teams in the world. Alexis Sanchez was one of these players. Just as Icardi and Skriniar are world class players from our current roster.

That, among other factors, but that being the most important one.

Maybe De Paul is a replacement for Candreva. Maybe this isn't all that bad after all...

Agent: Candreva could leave Inter
By Football Italia staff

Antonio Candreva’s agent has accepted that the winger could be forced to leave Inter this month.

Candreva has played just 282 minutes of Serie A football for Inter this season and despite already rejecting West Ham United and Fenerbahce, Federico Pastorello opened the door to a move away for his client.

“Candreva’s intentions at the start of the year were to stay for the whole season and contribute to helping the team do as well as possible,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s clear that dynamics change during the course of a season and he’s finding little space in the team at the moment.

“With that in mind, we’re obliged to keep our antennas up to see if there any opportunities to weigh up with the lad and Inter.”

Also 30 million in today's market is not very high to be honest.

It's been 15 years on this forum for me...no one has ever understood the meaning of world class. In one sentence you fitzed that.

They were confusing it with elite few.

Lets not do this. Sanchez was regarded as a great talent even when he joined Udinese as a 19 yr old. In 3 seasons, he improved year on year and impressed the hell out of everyone - not just in Serie A, but all over Europe. I remember he was a dream signing for most of us the season when he left Udinese for Barca, we just couldn't afford him. And he was only 22. In todays market, Udinese would have possibly got 100m for Sanchez.

De Paul is no Sanchez.

This place went to hell the moment someone say De Paul had a bigger impact than Sanchez :palm: Sanchez was taking Udinese to Champions League. All De Paul did was fighting relegation.
