Had to chuckle on one comment of Mancini's press conference:

.@robymancio: "#Brozovic told me he's got a bit of a headache. I told him, 'Lucky you, it means you've got one!'"

Seems like some low key diss against him.

Nagatomo over Telles is always facepalm worthy.

I don't like the idea of Biabiany starting this match but I always complain that he needs to play more so...

When it comes to dilema about wheter we should play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 this is how I see things:
When we play against weaker clubs: 4-2-3-1 is batter if they have a good defence but weak attack. 4-3-3 is batter if they have a good attack but weak defence
When we play against against stronger clubs things are opposite.

That being said we should play 4-2-3-1 but for me the idea of 4-1-4-1/4-3-3 tactic is still the best choise. Mancini did that in the first game and it was his best tactical decision this season and we won the match. But Spalleti probably prepared for that and we need to attack them because this is crucial game for us and if we loose it's all over. So... I'm okay with 4-2-3-1.

In the second half Brozo should take position of tired Biabiany, Manaj of tired Eder and Melo of Medel who recieved a yellow card.

I just hope we continue with the same attacking approach we used vs juve.. we need to beat them and close in on the top3, and the main way is to stop playing like bitches and attack

FIF Special Ones
Comedic Post of the Year
Mancini's presser:

How is morale?

"The players know it's a big match. I don't know whether it will be decisive because there are still lots of points to play for and a number of the top sides have to meet each other. It will, however, definitely be important to win the match because with three points we could cut the gap.

What do you think of Roma?

"Roma are a good side and, like Juventus and Napoli, they started the season looking to win the title. They have a lot of quality, they've been playing together for a long while and strengthened well in January with El Shaarawy and Perotti. Anything could happen over 90 minutes. Would a draw be a good result? When two sides go out there, they do so to give 100%. We'll see what the result is come full time but, just like Roma, we'll play to win. They've always been great matches when we play Roma and were some important milestones in the past because we developed and won a lot of trophies. Tomorrow sees a meeting between two in-form sides, I hope it's a good game and the result is the same as when we used to meet them."

The Players?

"We'll make a decision on Icardi after training, we'll assess his fitness together. As for a lack of numbers in midfield, Kondogbia is doing quite well, he will travel to Rome and we'll decide tomorrow whether to start him. Brozovic should be fit. Eder has played well ever since he joined the club. He moves well about the pitch, the only disappointing thing is he's yet to score but he works very hard for the team. I can't fathom the criticism, he's always scored goals and he'll start finding the net against soon, perhaps even tomorrow.

"Everyone struggles when they first move to Italy. Perisic can still get better, he's young and he can perform very well. He's doing what we've asked of him and what we thought he was capable of. A lot's already been said about Adem. As a former Roma player, Ljajic obviously wants to put in a great performance and I hope that's the case. Biabiany could be important, even off the bench."

How are Inter doing lately?

"The only regret is that we followed up our great start by dropping lots of points in January and February. But if we win tomorrow we'll be where we envisaged at the start of the season. We knew there were sides better equipped than us. You could say we've figured things out if you only look at our results. Often we've performed as we have in recent matches but haven't won."

What's happening to Italian Teams in Europe this season?

"That's how things are going at the moment. We dominated for years, whereas now we're going through a slightly tricky time. It will take a few years to regain our fourth Champions League place. I've got no idea what could happen with regards to a Super League, it's hard to comment on that at this moment in time."

Via Inter.it

Luciano's first presser against us after his return:

"I'll begin with a general update. Manolas has trained a fair bit. Castan will train today for the first time after a nasty bout of flu. Totti had a hip problem and returned to work yesterday. He'll train today and will be available for selection. Gyomber is out, he's not yet fit."

Digne, Pjanic and Nainggolan are all a booking away from suspension. Will that affect your team selection?

"We have a big enough squad to cope with potential bans. The number of bookings a player has will have no impact on who I pick tomorrow."

It's a must-win game for Inter. Do you expect them to set up to attack?

"In every match I've seen of theirs, Inter have tried to take maximum points, even more so tomorrow as they're aiming to take our spot in the table. We did the same as them when we were five behind them."

How's De Rossi? Could he start in midfield or at the back?

"You can consider Daniele in any area of the park. He has all the attributes required of a top player and he's experienced too. What's crucial is his willingness to play both at centre back and in midfield. He will be considered in both of these positions, while keeping in mind the rest of the team."

Will you stick with Dzeko or opt for a more mobile front line?

"We'll take all the time we have to make a decision on that. Both solutions work. We'll finalise the team in today's training session and the time we have before the game."

What have you made of the communication between Pallotta and Totti and how that's been handled?

"If we're not careful, we could play down one of the most important moments in the club's history. It's wrong to simply listen to the opinion of any old person. I think we're right to shield, screen and protect this situation to give the two key players time to clarify it. You can't analyse it by using statistics like the number of minutes he's played. The right approach is for them to meet, talk and reach a decision that suits both Totti and the Roma president. We'll then act accordingly. Both of them have to come away happy. I'll stop talking about it and it's only fair you do likewise because you're detracting from its importance. They have to meet given their important positions. No one should interfere but them."

After watching Bayern Munich v Juventus, how far away are Roma from being competitive at that level?

"If I have to try and improve something for Roma, I look at Roma, not Juventus. It was a great game between some incredible players with a top-level mentality at both clubs. I'm pleased with what my team are producing. You can improve on everything, you have to be open-minded to find things and values that you can use to drive you on towards your goal."

Roma v Inter is a repeat of the great Spalletti v Roberto Mancini tussles. Does that excite you?

"I get excited every time Roma play. Roma always get my juices flowing whoever we play against. Clearly Inter gives it that extra spice, they're a big club with a great coach and top players and we have had some big games in the past. Both sides share the same target and I hope my players are at the level required for such an important match."

How should we interpret the fact that there might only be two Italians out there tomorrow?

"It depends on the point you're trying to make. The world is a more open place and you always have to be on a par with what's being done elsewhere if you want to improve. It's not always a good thing to have a provincial mindset. There are Italians playing and performing very well abroad. I believe the solution is always to open up and show what you can do. If I'm good simply because I bring the others down, we'd be better off with someone replacing me."

Going forward, would you be strong enough to oppose potential player sales?

"What I discuss with the president remains between us and I won't share it with you. I'm focused on our remaining games this season. Clearly when we think about now and the end of the season we have to show all our ability in the matches we have remaining. All that matters to me is tomorrow night's match. We really must stay the course in this position. We have to hang onto it and potentially even aim higher. We like pressure, we'll take it. Some people are happy in fifth for example, whereas I'm here on a daily basis to try to improve everything relating to Roma and I like looking forward."

You've been linked with the Italy vacancy. Is that something you've ever worked towards?

"I like this job. I tried to take a bit of breather but then I got sucked back in. Plus when I do the job in a place I like, I love it even more. It's all very well and good planning when you're relaxed, with your feet under the table, but now my focus is on one thing only. I don't want there to be any doubt as to what I'm focused on at this moment in time. I'm not looking beyond finishing third. We need to finish third at least and as close as possible to the sides above us in case they drop points."

Once again there'll be no one in the Curva Sud tomorrow night. How can we move beyond this situation?

"I think it's crucial someone like [Prefect of Rome] Franco Gabrielli has shown he's open to dialogue. We have to make the most of these openings and show less pride and revenge, which can be quite typically Italian. I believe that if people want to, we can find a solution together. I think the powers that be are acting with common sense and we're not far off a resolution."

How pleased are you to have had such a big impact on the players' performance levels?

"One of the most satisfying aspects of my job is the changes you see in training - when I see the lads buying in to what we're doing, ready to graft, open to new ideas and eager to throw themselves into a challenge without getting hurt. It's a shame I wasn't able to work with top stars like Keita and Maicon earlier in my career."

How's Strootman? Is a three-man defence only an option with De Rossi?

"Strootman is improving all the time. He's making more tackles and getting fiercer all the time. You're right with your comments about his facial expression. In training he fights for every free-kick, every goal, it's incredible. It's a sign that he's very close to rediscovering all of his attributes. Obviously he needs actual game time, real-life match situations. He has to compete with the rest of the squad who are playing very well. Daniele can play both in midfield and defence and we can operate with a three-man backline without him as we've shown."

Spalletti also said this:

”I usually don’t say these things in press but but there are two categories: those who want to win and those who are satisfied. I want to win. Among those who are satisfied were ones first and now dropped to fifth in standings, Thohir’s team is fifth in the standings and he has a face of a happy man. We aim for third at least and later we work on closing on top two.

Yeah it did although salah's form was not very good at the match. Salah is all about speed he isn't anything special so nagatomo should be able to do the job even telles (although telles is very clumsy)

He is a cunt for saying that and you're right its none of his business, at all. That being said he is right, we are not ambitious. We started the season with a clear target; 3rd place. Now we are 5 points from Roma and they are like: Roma game not decisive. That's a pussy comment and just an excuse so that when we lose every's still fine. We are too calm, we dont want to finish things quickly.

Anyway his comments should give Mancini and the players boost to perform even well, it would be nice to shut him up on the pitch tomorrow

Spalleti sucked dicks for 5 years. He had a beast team, the best Roma ever. But Inter was every year better then his team.. we are talking about trophies and he talks only about positions, because its the only thing that roma has archieved in this years. Same bullshit happend last year when they discovred that Juve is still better then Roma. What a bunch of clowns..

all of what u said is true, however I think when they say its not decisive they mean that there are still other matches we have to play and win because like brozovic said we can win roma then go lose which would ruin everything, although if we lose to them today our chances decrease drastically but we can still make it. In my point of view for them a decisive match is like a knockout match. I love the part about giving the players a boost to shut him up, mancini on the other hand is like brain dead nothing will change him :pazzini: I am still predicting a 3-2 win which is crazy and improbable but still a win for us.

A 0-0 draw is the most common final scoreline when these two teams face off in the league. It's come up 20 times, most recently at the Stadio Olimpico in March 2014.

A 0-0 draw is the most common final scoreline when these two teams face off in the league. It's come up 20 times, most recently at the Stadio Olimpico in March 2014.

Roma are unbeaten against Inter in six home matches (four wins and two draws). Their last home defeat against the Nerazzurri came back on 19 October 2008 as Inter served up a comprehensive 4-0 victory courtesy of a Zlatan Ibrahimovic double and goals from Dejan Stankovic and Victor Obinna.

The Giallorossi are currently on an eight-match winning streak, the longest ongoing run of any team in Serie A

Roma have conceded just six goals in those eight wins and never more than one goal in a single game. Meanwhile, they've scored a total of 24 goals in the same period for an average goals-per-game ratio of three.

Roberto Mancini's side haven't won an away game since the 1-0 win at Empoli on 6 January. Their last five away trips have generated two draws and three defeats, with the Nerazzurri conceding 11 goals along the way (an average of 2.2 per game).

Roma are Serie A's most prolific scorers with 61 goals. They also have the best shots-to-goal ratio: 19%.

Luciano Spalletti's side are the league's highest scorers in the first 15 minutes of the game (11 goals), in the first half (28 goals) and in the second half (33).

Roma have gone behind fewer times than any other Serie A team this season (7). However, like Inter (who have fallen behind on ten occasions), they've never managed to recover from a losing position to win.

This is going to be tough.
