Roma - Inter [ Scores Inside ]

Roma is all mixed up right now. And we are the famous, glorious and powerful Inter. So it will obviously be the slaughter of Roma on Sunday.

I'd love to agree with you. However usually a change of coach leads to a short-term kick in the a$$ for the players. I actually think Roma will be VERY dangerous on Sun. Especially as the game is played in Rome, and they would like to show some morale and spirit infront of their passionate fans!
Anyhow, I have faith in the curent team. With a bit of luck and some individual magic we can overcome Roma.

p.s interesting how people field JZ on the left wing

JZ was used there when he came on as a sun for Favalli vs Anderlecht. Thats why we are inserting himas the lb.

I am saying it so many times and I am saying it yet again. I am very much hoping that we will play J.Zanetti and Ze Maria in LB and RB positions. If we can take care of Totti, Cassano, Mancini (not sure of Montella), then there will be no problems for us at all.

I will be watching this game with my friend, and I don't want another draw game. Whenever I have told my friends to watch Inter's matches, Inter has never won, so I am hopeful that the tradition will not continue this time.

You certainly seem to have a good point, Pravesh. Favalli is basically our worst/least good player in the starting eleven so far. IMO Ze Maria and Il Capitano can give more cover on the wings than Giuseppe can. The problem is that they are both right footed so it´ll give Mancini a headache. We are fortunate to have good alternative on all spots. Fullbacks alone we have Favalli, J. Zanetti, Coco, Ze Maria and Pasquale.

Fitness problems, fatique, players in bad form, injuries and possible bad luck is why absolutely should have such a big squad. Currently Coco is still not ready to play, Favalli has not yet found his form and Pasquale still seems a bit unreliable. All three "question marks" are left backs! So if Mancini intends to keep his philosophy of playing the best in form players he will play J. Zanetti and Ze Maria on LB and RB. I think we could surely try this out. Coco is rightfooted and he has done well as a left back, why shouldn´t others be able to?

So our formation could indeed look like this in the future:

Toldo

Ze Maria - Cordoba - Materazzi - J. Zanetti

Andy VDM - Veron - Davids - Stankovic

Adriano - Martins

A viable solution for Inter. Yet it remains to be seen if Mancini will dare to bench Favalli or not. For my part I hope...

I would actually propose that Burdisso continue along with Cordoba. This is exactly the kind of team where Materazzi´s weaknesses are exposed. Roma has absolutely no player that is a threat in the aerial game, and this is where Materazzi shines. He has weaknesses in his movements, since he´s so big which makes him slow. Cassano, Totti and Montella are all very movable players.

Also, without a doubt Matrix and Cordoba should start in center defense, Cordoba with his pace and Matrix with his experience against Roma would do the trick. Burdisso is too green for Romas attack yet.

I agree with Jimmy. I watched Burdisso heaps, handful of games at Boca then every Argentinian game at the olympics. Although they didnt concede a goal, in the air they were weak.

Im not blaming just one person, cause even Ayala struggled but for all ive seen Burdisso is not very good on set peice marking. But on the ground his great, he can read play to intercept passes and he can also tackle well. Against Roma this is exactly wat we need.

Mido's fine. Montella probably will play, why? Because his on fire. The reason he got fined for his behaviour is because when the 'fill-in' coach asked him to come on agianst real madrid he refused.

But when u have a coach like Del Neri he will know the situation and knows Montella if he starts will be a happy player and when his happy he can be devestating. Del Neri just stated how Totti will play.

Yes I actually did see the game! My concern however is that we should field our players in their actual position where you can get the best out of them. True, as we all know IlCapitano can play almost in any position. However as a LB it will be hard for him to attack and put in decent crosses and so on.
Its kind of like playing Chino on the LW or lets say Emre on RW and so on.
Favalli isnt that bad Yes, at times he messed up big times however I still think he should start on the LB position.

Mancini should cool down experimenting so much in our defence.

Its funny that when Zac was struggling with the team because of Vieri and his partnership with Adriano nobody backed him up. They left it on his shoulders and he did so well!! i really liked him as a coach just with some slight problems.

However when Mancini is coach Moratti, Fachetti and even another director comes out and says that Vieri shouldnt play! lol its tight.

I think if Zac had faith from the board then we could do really well this year, remember our 6 str8 wins? i think he could make that much more if he had the team from the start of the season and not joining the ship when its sinking. He wanted Stam, Emerson and some other dude, anyway enough of this its just to say i dont think Mancini should ever play Vieri again unless Adriano isnt playing.

I have a premonition that Vieri will recover 'in time' for this match. Let's see if it came true.

B-Drag: About the diamond, I think it is possible that Mancini used that in the Anderlecht game. I didn't see it but Veron stated that Cambiasso was playing behind him and helped Veron to concentrate on the offense since Cambiasso was winning all the balls. Furthermore, the line-up doesn't have any real wingers, hence diamond was certainly a possibility.

Anyway, Figo totally torched Candela and De Rossi in mid-week. I certainly hope that Mancini would use a real right winger this time. It should be the in-form Van Der Meyde. But the biased part of me hopes that it is Javier Zanetti. Facing a beaten up opponent would be easier for him and if he succeds, it'll increase his confidence.
