For me Werner and Lautaro are too similar to eachother to make it work. Especially Werner needs space to make it work for him and in Italy he will not get the space needed.

Ziyech I would take in a heartbeat but we would need to change the formation, Ziyech is a fantastic player but he plays at positions we don't need to strengthen right now. I still hope we go all in for Vlahovic, I really think he is the next big thing but obvious it's cloud talk right now and a gamble.

Telegraph just says the one included in this deal is Tammy Abraham.

Least painful solution if you ask me. Not in quality, but in terms of sensible evaluation. Every other clubs know we have tons of money and setting ridiculous price for their players. I mean, 35m for Scamacca, 40m for Zapata, 75m for Vlahovic, wtf? Vlahovic more than Hakimi?

At least with Abraham, we are not that desperate for a striker and start buying players at normal price again.

I prefer Werner, but his cost (+salary) is too high. Would reduce our cash too much.

I wonder what valuation Abraham would be at. He's a young guy - super young - and has a reasonable goalscoring record, but super disappointed with his lack of appearances this season.

At 100m+Abraham, I'd be pretty happy though. Get Abraham and maybe a Belotti/Kean or something like that and we've got good breadth and risk?

It will be perfect irony when both sets of fans will be fuming if this transfer goes through :p

Chelsea fans might come to regret it, while Inter fans IMO are or will continue to publiclly pretend to be against either because 1) they love Lukaku (like me) or 2) they wanna bash Suning (like me).

Tammy Abraham is a good striker, when I saw him first time I thought he would fit perfectly to Serie A. It's much better solution than Alonso, Emerson or Zappacosta. The problem is he is massive downgrade to Lukaku, I still hope he is considered as our 3rd striker while rest of the money will be spent for Vlahović.

Firstly, no. He's simply not good enough and he's wildly over valued virtue of the "English tax". Every half-decent, youngish player over there is ludicrously overhyped.

Secondly, he's turning 24 in 2 months. How is that "super young".

Chelsea valued Abraham at 40m in the discussions they had with Atalanta. So either he would join on loan with option or the amount of cash would decrease significantly.

Pretty young for Italy, to be fair :D You're practically a youth prospect until 25 in Italy.

No self respecting club should buy a striker whose name is Tammy, least of all for 40m.

But we're not a self respecting club :/

Only acceptable options if we're not going to spend money is getting Jovic AND Kean on loan+option deals until we decide we can get someone good enough on a permanent deal.

But whatever, let's see what happens here. And when.

Kean is the new Balotelli both on and off the pitch. No thanks.
I feel like we need the low quality drama to keep us busy from the real shit that's going on.

...because they (Chelsea & Atalanta) are assuming we stupidly gift 40m for Zapata beforehand, whose price has been pumped.

If we negotiate directly with Chelsea, as we don't pay cash, things would be much easier. For instance, pumping Lukaku price to 140m too to match such 40m evaluation.

What did I get 'so wrong'? I've been posting balanced opinions. Just becauase someone can hit the sign up button doesn't mean people have to accept their blithering opinions.

Many people, myself included, said coming into the transfer window that 120-130m for Lukaku was a good deal and we should instantly take it. Yes, it'd have been better to have kept Hakimi, but if there was no offer from Chelsea (chasing Haaland/Kane), then it's irrelevant isnt it?

And I still stand by that - 130mil for Lukaku IS a good deal. It's the BIGGEST transfer ever in Serie A history - topping out Pogba, Zidane, Higuain, Ibrahimovic, and I'm sure many others could be named as well. The only relevant question is how much money will be reinvested. 20-40mil - I'd be pretty pissed off. 60-80mil is okay. More than 80 would be fairly generous considering the circumstances.

Having one superstar (at an overinflated market value no less, IMHO) isn't necessarily the optimal outcome, building a better team is.

I've also repeatedly said for months that I think Suning SHOULD sell, and that they are probably going to sell. I dont think it'll be this season (my bet), probably within the next couple though. The domestic situation in China is clearly an issue, and I suspect that needs to pay out. If you want to remove credit from Suning, you also need to give credit to them for building this team from proper banter era shit show in the first place. Even ifi we do lose Lukaku, Hakimi, hell even De Vrij - this team right now is still FAR stronger than the one they inherited. The FACT you cannot avoid is that they've invested probably £300million+ in Inter. I don't have the figure on hand for the total amount of debt to equity conversions they've done, but in the first 6 months of last season alone, they did £70m conversions. That's not the actions of someone who wants to milk Inter dry and take every penny out. They've never taken a single dividend, sold off club assets (e.g. media/brand rights to a third party company - which, oh look, barcelona have done!), or anything like that. The lack of gratitude for owners who have put in so much money to bring this club back from a low of 9th place to 2nd, and 1st, is just shocking. And, yes, have no doubt - if it wasnt for the CCP restrictions and COVID, we'd be in a much healthier position. They took risks and gambles (as ever business does), and unfortunately it didnt pay off entirely for circumstances outside of their controls. Like many businessses have failed and will continue to do so in the last couple of years.

Point being, none of this entitles you to accuse me of being a Zhang shill or anything like that. Just because I don't feel like jumping onboard the - frankly racist - bandwagon of 'Fuck Suning and all chinese', doesnt mean I'm a 100% zhang supporter. I try to provide balanced opinions wherever possible. And yes, I'd like an ownership change. But I'm also not going to hold out hope for an Elliott-style owner who is willing to invest literally £1billion+ in 3 years into the club, because when Milan implodes, it's going to be far worse than Inter. We need a sustainable business model, because in that scenario (aside from Glazer-style ownership), our owners wont actually matter. For the first time probably in the club's HISTORY, we'll be capable of standing on our own two feet. And that, to me, is worth more than winning another scudetto or even a Champions League. That's how Inter continues for generations, and grows into a top top club.

Anyway, as part of my promise to myself when I decided to get active again, I'm not engaging with idiots anymore. I've been an Inter fan longer than you've probably even heard of this club, and I'm sure I'll be around supporting this club long after you've moved on to something else. Even
At what point have I had any objection to them having an opinion? The only thing I have beef with is being called a Zhang shill and the allegation that I'm being _paid for_ by Zhang.

The WHOLE POINT of the number of years I've supported Inter is that I've (factually! Indisputably!) signed up to this forum long before Zhang was even a thing. Unless you think this is some major CCP conspiracy theory where I've signed up to an Inter forum in the anticipating that, maybe, in 12 years time, a Chinese billionaire who basically didnt exist at that point in time was going to buy out the club and we wanted to start the social media disinformation game early?

Everyone's opinion is welcome, but being entitled to an opinion doesn't mean you're entitled to be fucking stupid. I'll consider everyone's opinion on face value and at merit. I think I've always been pretty good at that, but maybe other people will disagree.

It's no different to, for example, me accusing you of being a glory hunter because you're now posting because we won the league in 20/21. It's just fucking stupid. You jonied this forum in 2004, it's a fucking ridiculous suggestion. It's genuinely fucking idiotic. The basic prima facie facts make the very allegation fucking idiotic.

So if you're going to go off at me, have some basic comprehension before you think this is some dick measuring contest and you're telling me to 'save the bullshit'. At least understand what the fuck is being discussed first.

tl;dr no beef with opinions, i always consider opinions at face value. I have beef with being accused of being a _paid for Zhang shill_.
Kid? You write long posts that say nothing and your accusing me of being a kid. Stop playing like the victim and getting your friends to pat you in the back.

You were wrong and the writing was on the wall. Now man up

I don’t need to validate how long I have been an inter fan but because you so politely asked, I started following Inter in 2003.

I had an account on fif but forgot my password and username, signed up in 2005. There was this member at the time named azzlicker , or ass liker , he reminds of you.

I finally visited the giuseppe meazza stadium in 2012-13 and watched Inter v Juve live. One of the nicer things my ex wife did.

Inter bringing to Seria A an unproved young English player with zero experience outside PL, what could go wrong? :yao:

Yeah.. I don't believe that Marotta is even considering Abraham's name at all. Our main target is definitely Zapata and if we get someone from Chelsea it's most likely someone like Zappacosta.

Selling Lukaku for 130 million is not mistake but the current rumoured replacements are.
So true, 130 mil is very big offer and we need to take it with all the pain in that, but all this rumors about this clowns replacements are making me worry..

It seems to me that the majority of posters here have no problem with Lukaku's sale for that money, but against it because of the rumored 60m limit allowed for replacements. It's very understandable, because the severe drop in quality (Hakimi and Lukaku) simply can NOT be covered with just 60m unless we get extremely lucky and find some hidden gems for low prices. It's not impossible, but the chances are really low.

#Schira - #Marotta and #Ausilio waiting to hear from #Suning the reinvestable budget deriving from the sale of Romelu #Lukaku to #Chelsea. #Zhang intends to spend only 30% (about forty million). 2 attackers in the sights (one on loan)
