Question for me really is the transfer mechanism from Chelsea. Also potentially is lukaku still eligible for growth decree?

AFAIK it's applicable and still is. If he stays, it remains to be applied. I remember there was 5-year period it's applicable for a person coming from abroad. Lukaku came 2019 so it would be applicable for the next two seasons (and there was never a stoppage of that because the return to Italy happened within one year so it's the same period still going on).

I could also be wrong on this.

I didn't realize his stats were so good until I just checked. 7 goals 3 assists in 6 games. We need to at least loan him again next year.

As i said multiple times i really dont care about the mechanism as long as we can get him for 4 to 5 mios less per year....
I really dont care wether it s a sale or a loan..
Also if the numbers are in that region chelsea would be better off selling him rather than loaning him unless lukaku takes a massive pay cut...

As cafe pointe out lukaku is currently under growth decree and think he would still be next season

I don't particular like him before, even in Conte's year, but you gotta do him fair, check out the stats per mins played. (Edit: sorry I misread")

He looks even better than Conte's time now, e.g. even his touches are a lot better, let alone his lay up and passes. Marotta was right about the weight thing.

He's in amazing form and credit to him, because I thought the misses in the World Cup would break him.

In recent games you can see just how difficult it is for Serie A defences to deal with someone of Lukaku's strength and speed. Both Ruan and Djimsiti could not handle him at all.

What's impressive is that since the Empoli match, he has looked very good in every game he has played in. Even in the matches that he came on as a sub (Euroderby, etc.) he's generally looked in very good shape.

He's no longer the 'main man' like he was under Conte, and maybe that has also freed him from the pressure a bit? He seems to look better in big games now than he did in his first spell.

Seems like you've been doing a lot of posting these past few months without checking...

Wasn't Nyall one of those posters that wasn't really a daily poster?? And the better Inter gets, the more he posts? Am I the only one noticing that? What's with the finger pointing lately?

I am all for being hyped and cheering for the team, but constantly searching for vindication gets annoying. Great, you said you trusted Inzaghi. You said Inter could go far in CL. Woo, good for you. Now stop starting fights because you suddenly turned into miss Cleo.

yeah, I'll give it to you guys, the arguments in favour of growth decree seem likely. I wasnt sure because I'd assume he'd have to sign a new contract with Inter, but it seems like he's eligible for 5 years no matter what. Shrug.

AFAIK it's not even about the contract. But about the person, as tax resident. Lukaku started paying taxes to Italy within one year from leaving so it didn't break the applicability to the tax cut, as he never really left in terms of tax residency. That's how I've explained it to myself. That's why they rushed it before July.

So after making an ass out of yourself by calling me a reactionary poster this is your new theory?

Some people need to be called out for the bullshit they post. I've never hesitated from doing that in the 15+ years I've been here.

I don't care, Nyall. I'd rather have a drink with you and watch any Inter game, but I can't enjoy the game if all you talk about is how Skriniar is the worst person in the world and how you are the only one that trusted this Inter squad/coach.

It's not like we don't have the typical sarcastic posts "we are gonna lose, the game is early" "oh no, it's Sassuolo away ughhh"

I think mostly we all believed this squad was good enough to be top3 this season and we all wanted this squad to finally push further in CL. Onana really helped as an upgrade to Handa, at least for CL matches.

But what you make it look like most of the forum thought our maximum is to be 10th. I love Inzaghi, but he deserved to be criticized, same with Lautaro or Lukaku. Doesn't mean they are shit

Brehme, it's okay to not know, you are not the demographic for Megan.

There are so many famous people that most of our forum don't know and that's okay.

Culturally relevant person apparently.
To put it in perspective she has about 3x the followers of our most followed player (Lautaro) on Instagram. Not that any of this stuff really matters in the grand scheme it’s just funny to see Inter in my news feed from American gossip sites.
