So, when Lukaku scores it's because of the quality of his teammates but when Icardi does it's because he is a great striker. And when Lukaku sucks it's due to his lack of skills but when Icardi does it's because he doesn't get enough service by the teammates.

That is the impression i get, when i'm reading Brehme's posts. Correct me if im wrong.

Man, I really hope you are pretending to be this thick...

Where did I speak about Icardi?

Someone incorrectly assumed something that I commented on 4 months ago and now parades it as my alleged opinion.... I explained what I said BACK THEN. Where does Icardi fit here? Does Icardi play for Belgium, too?

Lukaku at Belgium benefits from having these two guys, being the starter. A guy like Benteke (who is worse than Lukaku of course) does not benefit from that as much since he plays with the rest of the reserve guys or some garbage minutes as a sub. Where do you see Icardi being mentioned here? Are you this disappointed that Lukaku is the Icardi replacement that you have to imagine his name is everywhere next to Lukaku?

As for your comments on why each "suck", I'll go back to my initial comment...

Answer what exactly? I'm not the one who initiated this 'attack' because of something completely unrelated... But still, answer what?

That it is Icardi's fault that Lukaku cannot control for shit 9/10 times?
That his chest "passes" are ridiculous?
That he loses the ball or disorients our attack whenever he tries to be 'involved' at the half way line or further deep?
That the only way he's being helpful is when he is not doing all those things but rather does what an attacker has to do and just "get involved"?

Or do I need to remind people that Icardi got bashed because he was triple marked in the penalty box and his teammates where just crossing the ball towards him?

People seem to have gone blind after this Slavia game. VAR aside, Lukaku became the apparent hero because his man marker slipped in the middle of the pitch. Sure, the pass to Lautaro was sexy as fuck, but it wouldn't even occure if we didn't have that 1-2 lead at the time.

I'm sorry that my opinion on wasting money on Lukaku and Conte is so strong that whenever I post something it has to be 100% related to that and other members cannot really participate in a discussion without holding biases... When we spend 100m on Maguire and get Nedved as our Director of Football I'll sit quiet.

Lukaku doesn't control for shit 9/10 times.

Lukaku's chest passes are not ridiculous.

That is factually incorrect as well.

What? He gets involved -and- he scores goals.

People debated you long before Slavia game. A

You also tend to emphasize his transfer fee when measuring his impact in order to belittle it.

Considering that similar prices were paid for Luka Jovic, Nicolas Pepe and Antoine Griezmann, I think we can comfortably say that so far, he's made a far bigger impact than those have for their new clubs. He's the only one who's actually increased in value.

Wasting money !!!!
I am struggling to understand why you still think that Conte and Lukaku were not our best options for the money paid over the summer ,.

You keep bashing them both , but you have failed to provide suitable candidates (in the same price bracket ) that would have achieved the same impact ?

He has made himself clear; he would have preferred Mourinho to Conte, keeping Icardi to buying Lukaku, and using the money saved to sign a midfielder like SMS. It's a valid argument, just one that I disagree with. Hopefully Conte's results validate my (our) opinions over time.

100% agree. That trivela pass was amazing but it would have been absolutely reckless, useless and gimmicky if Lautaro's parents hadn't fucked 22-some-odd years ago.

Lukaku should just stick to basics and stop jeopardizing our season.

Every Inter fan has massive love for Jose ,. But keeping Icardi ? Unless Jose planned to choke the shit out of Wanda I don't see much of an improvement...

Conte and co. Have changed the mindset you can clearly see that week in week out , I was sceptical at first but so far I see them doing a thorough job ... At least we can put the Rube spy theories to bed now !

Regardless Jose is at spurs and Icardi is doing great at PSG , let's just stick to our own shit in hand rather than thinking about what ifs

Icardi had personality problem that made his staying unbearable, not a playing problem. Comparisons between him and Lukaku would have been more fitting if Icardi was simply replaced with the former by the club as a better option as a striker.

According to Wiki:

Icardi: 144 goals (143 for his clubs and 1 for his NT) in 272 games (264+8).

Lukaku: 250 goals (199+51) in 505 games (422+83).

But I have to say: This comparisons are getting pretty annoying ...

tbh this thread would be fine if it wasnt for brehme.

it's tedious as fuck and ruins one of the most important threads in the forum

admins/mods should at least just ask him to park his fucking opinions as it really is starting to ruin parts of the forum for me.

I believe he has the right to keep posting, but I feel it’s almost just trolling at this point. If his handle was different like, I don’t know, maybe Sheva2003? this amount of negativity would not have been tolerated. I get the odd criticism from time to time, but this has got to the point where it just looks ridiculous. Man, I thought I was a pessimist but the amount of people I’ve seen on this forum makes me feel like Mr Rogers. Jeez!
