He gave away possession too many times and the times he did not, his teammates had to run to awkward places to barely save it. Even Lautaro's goal which was a sort of a combination between them had Lautaro nick the ball off the defender as the pass was very poor.

His best effort was in the first minute that hit the bar. After that he couldn't win a header and everytime he received the ball he was bound to lose or misplace it. It was one of his worst games actually, far worse than Roma and probably as bad as the home Slavia game.

The only improvement was that he didn't lose the ball most times from first touch but from the second or third.... If you can call that improvement, then sure, silver linings everywhere.

I think you're being overly critical about his assist. It was a pass that required the narrowest of margins to be successful, and sure the defender missed the pass because it was a tad more behind Martinez than expected, but he still converted the pass about 90% correctly. It's like criticizing a player who scores on a large deflection for taking a poor shot.

With that said, he was not good after that point. We continually kicked balls deep to him, some of which he managed to knock down. But as our midfield was pegged further back as the game progressed, those knocked down balls became passes to no one. He became invisible from that point on, and Conte mad a large mistake subbing off Martinez instead of him.

I honestly would pay Pier to make a post about his touches and "hold up play" throughout the season because this unwarranted hype is getting out of hand

He made like 4 wrong easy passes during our attacks today and he was complaining to his teammates about no one receiving them even  One of them was funny as hell, he was out left and he passed it towards the middle where we had 3 players. The ball went just nowhere near them and he was standing them waving his arms in complaint about how they didn't take advantage of it

And sorry, I'm a bit tipsy because we were out with some Italian friends watching the games and we had amaretto shots everytime he messed up

Yeap. Gotta improvise and create an actual drinking game for this. I was thinking tequila everytime he scores, boilermaker for every missed header/duel, ouzo shot for every failed dribble and I think I'll stick to the amaretto for every misplaced pass.

He walks WAY too much.
He should have been the first of the replacements, because he provided 0 pressing and was very bad for the rest of the game after like 30-35mins.
Lautaro shouldn't have been subbed off. But Conte never changes.

I think he was really good for the most part, but should have been subbed instead of Lautaro as Lukaku was visibly more wiped than him. Conte keeps getting that substitution wrong.

If Lukaku gets a pass on the pressing game because he's a big body and needs to reserve energies for the sprints etc. he should be taken out when he's tired, not Lautaro. And it's anyway simply a fucked-up tactic to let Lukaku slack while others press if that happens from minute 0. Or then he simply doesn't have the awareness to do that. I'm actually leaning more to the latter one because it wouldn't make any sense to have a striker there who doesn't press properly, specially in Conte's team. Brozo visibly angry to Lukaku several times in a match etc. speaks that Lukaku isn't doing what he's suppose to do.

He clearly doesn't trust his bench players and decides to make the most defensible substitution. The irony is he chose Sanchez and he knows that he is almost never fit. So why did he sign him in the first place?

We have no one who is close to a like-for-like sub for Lukaku. If Giroud does come, I expect him to replace Lukaku on games like Saturday's.

Yeah Giroud would have been good sub for Lukaku and we would have kept Lautaro on who was way more active on the pitch. Giroud would have handled the hoof balls better than what Lukaku did or at least that is my expectation of what Giroud can provide to this team.

Mazzola 13 seconds in a Derby vs Milan. Common knowldge man.

Mazzola. Legend.
13 seconds. Number 13 is either "unlucky" or "lucky" or whatever. It's a number you don't forget easily.
Derby.

If you didn't know, now you have no excuse to ever forget this :)

Lukakus career best season was 2017/2018 one, when he was part of Manchester United, where in all competition (51 matches) had scored 27 goals.

Meanwhile, in this season, out of 25 matches played in all competition with Inter, Lukaku has scored 18 goals.
So, Lukaku needs to score 9 more goals on next 26 matches with Inter this season, to breaks his own record.

In games like Saturday, Lukaku stayed on simply because we were overrun and he was our best chance at holding off defenders to get our midfield into play. Lautaro doesn't do that well, and usually looks for a whistle by trickery or forcing contact - often to the point of embarrassment. But that's also why they happen to be a great duo.

With that being said, Conte really needs a second option for Lukaku if he plans to keep the same strategy and tempo. It's ridiculous now how many minutes he has played. He is scoring, but in real games, we are seeing and will continue to see a pattern of struggles in the second half. He shouldn't have had to play tonight.

Among top 5 post-Treble reinforcements imo he is amazing and fits so well in Conte's vision.
