This has been Chelsea PR narrative since last night. Sadly for them nothing was taken out of context. Lukaku's quotes about Chelsea and Tuchel were his exact response to the question "How are you?".

One had to be naive to believe this was about a childhood dream. It always was about the money and the salary Chelsea offered. And it's perfectly fine. He's a professional after all. This was his last big contract and he would be stupid to reject such a high offer. He just needs to cut the crap about dreams, boyhood clubs, Adriano, Drogba etc.

I dont have the impression that money is his absolute priority. He seems more obssesed with his image, he's obssesed with how people see him amongst the best footballers. Chelsea was the chance to solidify his place among the elites. You can call it ambition, but in case of Lukaku, his talent falls a bit short off what he wants to be. He's also very thin skinned and quite smart with his words to suck up to the fans (not smart enough to know when to shut up tho). All of these created this PR mess.

Tbh i have no issue with Lukaku asking for an extension. It's typical procedure when another club makes a high offer for a player. This is how Perisic got his extension when we rejected his Man Utd move. It's just hilarious Lukaku decides to bring this up now.

How can the player tell you that he wanted out, tell you that he needs to apologise and you still keep with the narrative that the chinese forced him out ?
Did you not read what he, Pastorello, Ausilio, Marotta and Inzaghi said ?

Guys come on. Even Skriniar said Lukaku was considering an exit early in the summer if he received an offer. No one forced him out. Lukaku chose to say these things now only because it didn't work for him at Chelsea like he expected. This is just Lukaku testing waters for an Inter return.
