Inter really wish to pay back as much money that Chelsea paid for Lukaku. Way to ruin a good sale which Inter managed to do once in a decade.

We already paid too much to get back an injured out of form Lukaku on loan. Let's not make it even worse by extending it, or worse making it permanent. We don't even know who's gonna be the coach and how we're going to play next season. Why even think about keeping this fatass for another year when getting him back has turned out to be a failure so far?
We are obviously not a rich club but we are absolutely not poor either.
We're just goddamn stupid when it comes to spending wisely.
We do one expensive mistake (think Correa) that eventually gets erased by one smart cheap move if we are lucky (think Calhanoglu, even though his wages are kinda mad too). It's never balanced. It's actually funny because Dzeko is the smart cheap move that balances out both the Correa deal and the return of Lukaku, even though everybody spits on him.

Once sold Lukaku we should've forgot that he even exist. Especially given how he handled his move out of the club. But no, we're Inter, unbelievably scared to try anything new.

Yeah I believe it's the same thing, just an unofficial agreement that allowed us to get more money for Casadei, we're getting stuck with Lukaku on extraterrestrial wages while we're about to lose Skriniar on a Bosman.
Meritocracy has a different meaning at Inter.
I meant that nothing is agreed yet even if there is some verbal agreement that he will be back next season too. We might pull the plug over this agreement any day we want.

But having already received a high amount for Casadei I highly doubt we'd even consider doing that to be honest.

We know Lukaku will not pull a Benzema or Lewandowski, so a 2 year loan is ideal for Inter.

What if he comes back and is in a bad shape and cannot be removed from the lineup because it'll (he'll) ruin the locker room?
Considering we've finally dropped Handanovic, I don't think that'll be the case. Seems like someone made Inzaghi grow some balls - not complete yet but at least in progress.

I seriously doubt Lukaku would have such power and control in the locker room that he wouldn't be dropped if he's at bad shape.

That would be some terrible management by everyone, starting from captain, coach and the management team.

The fact that it got him back here tells my subconscious otherwise

We needed a good striker. Sure he was on a bad season but worth trying. He's disappointed so far, but there's a lot of the season to go still. If it's shit in 8 more matchdays then we can worry

I think we can worry already because we are already way behind the top and our next few matches are gonna be against the best teams of the league. There is still plenty of matches to be played, but if we fail to reach our objective in these upcoming matches then it's gonna be almost over. Our opponents will play their cards with less pressure.

What did you mean by this

"The fact that it got him back here"

You talked about power and influence in the locker room. I just said that he ended up at Inter despite all logical conclusions suggesting that this would have been a bad idea and not only that, we bent ourselves backwards and changed our entire strategy to accommodate his demand to return. It didn't make any sense either. There was no other suitor for Lukaku and no one was going to pay him 8m a year, let alone pay a fee on top of that, after a very bad season and a falling out with his manager and club.

I mean, how did we end up here if it wasn't Lukaku mesmerizing Marotta and Zhang with whatever it was that happened?

Mesmerizing? Come on.

Club thought he would be a good solution to our scoring problems, don't need any mesmerizing for that.

Let's see if he's that solution. So far he's been mostly injured so the jury is still out.

They saw him more of a sure thing than Dybala. Lukaku had alrealy played for Inter and he had formed a deadly partnership with Lautaro. On the other hand, we would have to change the way we play with Dybala so it was a question mark if a Lautaro-Dybala duo would work. Also there was a concern about Dybala fitness. I wasn't in favor of a move for Lukaku at the time but i understand the reasoning.

Of course so far it has totally backfired but it's still early in the season.

Dybala now also faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

How much does this loan cost? I seen it as a pure financial choice and they probably thought this would bring us the league. If we have a chance to bring back our record sell and league mvp just one year ago on loan it probably seemed almost too good to be true. I also think he should have been left in the past, but, let's see. There's no doubt if we can get him back to his best he is a difference maker. That's a big if though.

This is easily the dumbest tread on fif by a mile ATM....
People saying he s finished he s shit we should have never gotten him back blah blah blah all while moaning for a good striking partner for Lauti..

Can we at the very least wait till the man played 10 games before we call the transfer either way?
Its all dumb speculation and NO going for the much more injury prone dybala who would not have been a great fit for lauti would not have been the obviously better deal in summer.
Just cause you tell your selfe that does not make it true.

Yes i m rather pro lukaku but a big part of that is cause he worked at inter with basically this squad and easily has been the best partner for lauti we ve had.
That does not mean that it was a smart move but lets wait a bit before we judge. Especially when injuries kept him from playing and their pretty fucken unpredictable.
