I think in a couple days I'll look back and smile... it's just easy to look right now and know everyone gets to "laugh" at USA again like usual. :palm:

Chill, dude, chill. USA already gained a lot of good publicity 4 years ago, this year they did good again and had a lot of chances to progress even further.

Ok. I didn't feel like 2010 was a success tbh. Seemed like a more lucky situation when that happened. This time I felt they weathered the storm better. Hard to be optimistic on this sometimes knowing our history. Lots of so close yet so fars.

Couldn't they play like this from the beginning?! They had to make us sit through 90 minutes of boring football to finally show us some interesting football?!!

You thought that was boring? It was end-to-end stuff. Sure, there weren't any goals, but still plenty of exciting play.

Coaster, even your leagues are becoming more 'pro' year after year, football schools are not just kiddies playing with soccer moms on the stands, combine that with a big variety of nationalities that actually live for football and voila, USA is finally taking this seriously. Klinsmann should stay USA coach!

I've been liking Klinsmann a lot. Not too worried about him. Just seeing an early ET goal like 2010 against Ghana just brought bad memories. We'll see how serious this country takes it, obviously it will never be the top thing for us... not many take MLS seriously which I don't either.

He was not the only one, few players puked around the extra time. From both Belgium and USA teams.

Why? No way in fucking hell should their cardio and fitness levels be that low.

Why is that hard to believe? They are trained to go 90 minutes and now they have to go 120. They are playing against each other not us, so the level of both teams is very high. There was a lot of sprinting on those last minutes, not shocking at all to me.

Because they're professionals and are expected to be at tip top shape, and clearly aren't. An extra 30 minutes shouldn't have players throwing up in that case from running around. Maybe they should train with some professional rugby clubs to learn how to be fit, or hell even my amateur club.

Hell, this is the only sport I watch out of a good bunch where I've actually seen players throw up because they can't handle the cardio.

Do you actually think a professionally rugby player would have faired better? Of course you see players in other sports handling the cardio better, they aren't playing football! An amateur team plays in the park and at probably a quarter of the pace. Throwing up doesn't necessarily mean that you are out of shape. It could be a number of things such as too much water during the break between the game and OT. We won't know, but I saw nothing in the game to make me think these teams had poor fitness, even in OT.

Rugby cardio is completely different to that needed for football.

Less than a quarter of the pace, tbh...

heat bro. Its crazy hot that is one of the things helping Colombia, Brazil and Costa Rica. Euros can't handle playing in the heat/humidity. That is why teams have water breaks 30 minutes into each half

Untrue, I am somehow having no problems with 37 degrees in Hungary and Netherlands' performance has been 1000x better than what was expected of them.
