WoW .... He never went the wrong way :D
what a goal keeper ... I guess he's a penalty specialist eh :D

I saw him training on the side during the match. He was face to face with who I think was the GK coach and wherever the coach pointed the GK jumped the opposite side. At the time I didn't understand it but I'm guessing that meant to look at the kicker's foot before it hits the ball. If the foot goes to the left, jump to the right. If the foot goes to the right, jump to the left.

I'm just speculating here, but if what I just said is true that means Van Gaal is a genius and doesn't leave anything to luck.

Well deserved win, Sneijder reminded us again what a player he is.

Dutch could have won it in 90 mins tbh, but overall they had more than enough chances to bury one on Costa Rica.

Yeah thinking about it Van Gaal must have planned this all out beforehand

This is what I believe. Maybe Krul was very good at penalty saving in training sessions whereas the main GK is better GK. Still you need balls of steel to make that sub, seen it for the first time.

What a fantastic world cup Costa Rica had, they came so close to semi finals when no one thought they would win even a single point. Just amazing when their best player is Bryan Ruiz who is loaned out to PSV and Joel Campbell who is loaned out to Greece league.

Also fantastic achievement for Netherlands. They have poor team bar Robben, RVP and Sneijder but somehow they are pulling off wins. LVG substitutions worked superbly in the last 2 rounds. Brought on Huntelaar and he scored winner and played well. Brought on Krul today and he was the penalty hero.

Too bad for Costa Rica but Netherlands was the better team today and is well deserved. But it must be said there was a more clear penalty than the one from Marquez-Robben in favor of Costa Rica and was ignored by the referee.

Also Costa Rica should have been down to 10 players when Diaz fouled Robben near the edge of the box. IMO this game was free from controversial decisions.

The only really bad call was the handball that wasn't one, but it didn't even result in anything.

No man. that must be because Diaz wanted to calm the things down.

it was the second yellow wasn't it? If so then it's true. The referee was good today except for those 2 decisions.

Ref analysis:

28th minute: Martins Indi held the Costa Rican player with both hands inside the penalty box. He grabbed the Costa Rican player to avoid him heading the ball. It should've been a yellow and a penalty.

61st minute: Campbell had the ball inside Netherlands penalty box and Martins Indi tackled him from the back and pushed him. It should've been a yellow and a penalty.

99th minute: Robben got the ball and was one-on-one with the GK but it was called offside which wasn't.

Here we go, Costa Rica should've won 2-0 and Martins Indi was supposed to get a yellow on three occasions. Only one of them was given by the ref.

Overall ref rating: ok, not too good compared to his last three games.

My life expectation has been shortened with 20 years today... WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUCK!!!! We even overon our penalty syndrome!

What a deserved win, it would've been a disgrace to football if CR won today, they didn't even care to try... props to their defence though, the best defence on the WC. They even managed to keep the best attack on the WC at 0-0...

I'm not even gonna be able to sleep tonight, not even if I wanted to... WHAT THE FUCK!!!

3rd American team fucked, Argentina next. Then we'll lose a 4th final.

What a fucking game... WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT SEMI FINALS?! I FUCKING EXPECTED US TO LOSE ALL THREE GROUP GAMES!!! I AM STILL EXPECTING TO WAKE UP FROM A DREAM!!!

I realized today that Costa Rica has made it thus far in every game by parking the plane and most importantly because they had an amazing goalkeeper, plus their own share of luck.

I also realized that Van Gaal is a genius and maybe the only coach to give his goalkeepers specific focus on training, since the beginning.

How do you know Costa Rica would have scored both penalties and Robben wouldn't score his chance had those calls were correctly made?

Robben should have been kicked out of the WC after his 50th dive. Why aren't they carding dives at the WC? I am trying to get my friends interested in soccer but the flopping is killing it for them.

Penalties I don't know but Robben's chance was in the extra time. One of those penalties were enough to be converted to goal and there would be no extra time.

Netherlands defender Martins Indi should've been sent off, which would've been in favor of Costa Rica.

Haha, a hurt Crzd. Go cry in a corner with your american shit teams and predictions, while Oranje's performances with the glorious Robben fuck you up and knock american teams out time after time after time. :proud:

He dived like 2 times, btw. Nearly every player of Colombia did it more.

Anyways, cryers will cry. NL won so deservedly today, it hasn't been more clear in any game this WC.

Smart sub at the end, but then again, Costa Rica couldn't kick their penalties to the edge. Pretty sad
