RULES
1) POINTS ALLOCATION
In this game, you have to predict the scores of every Serie A and other top European games that is played in the weekend (Or sometimes in midweek). You get 5 points for predicting the outcome of the match (A draw, home win or away win) and another 5 points for correct scoreline. These are some examples:
  • Actual scoreline: Inter - Milan 7-0

Your prediction: Inter - Milan 7-0
No. of points you get: 10

Your prediction: Inter - Milan 6-0
No. of points you get: 5

Your prediction: Inter - Milan 0-0
No. of points you get: 0
Just like when you're betting with the bookies, I would only take the full match (90 minutes) result of the cup ties. This means, extra-time and penalties are not counted.

In the event of a match being abandoned, the match will not be counted for that week and if there is any member who assign a special match to that match, there will be no special points awarded for that round.

2) DEADLINES
Some rules you have to follow, you have to predict before the first match of the round start. If you predict during or after that match, you can only make predictions of the other matches. You cannot edit your predictions once the match start.

The deadline of the prediction is 5-10 minutes before the first match of the week. However, since I'm a very kind guy :)stuckup:) I'll allow you to predict the rest of the week's matches if you missed the first or second matches. PS: The first and second matches are usually on Saturday whereas the rest are played on Sunday. :)

3) FOR THE LAZY A$$es
As discussed earlier, those who miss the PL 4 weeks in a row, his/her account will be deleted. This is to make sure that there are nobody who just predict once than never predict again for the rest of his 'career'.

4) SPECIAL MATCH
From now on, it is possible for you to assign a 'special match'. Let me use an example since I can't explain myself. :D Let's say this is my prediction:
  • Serie A - Week 1
    xxx 0 - 0 xxx
    xxx 0 - 2 xxx
    xxx 2 - 2 xxx
    xxx 4 - 4 xxx
    Inter 7 - 0 Milan :star: --- Actual scoreline: Inter 8 - 0 Milan
    xxx 4 - 4 xxx
    xxx 3 - 5 xxx
The star symbolise that you want that match to be your special match. What does this special match do? If you get points off that match (Irregardless of by predicting the correct outcome only or with the correct scoreline as well), you will get twice the point. As seen in the above example, I predict the correct outcome (An Inter win) but not the correct scoreline. Normally, I will only get 5 points but since I want this to be my special match, I will get 10 points instead.

You can only assign one special match per week. This is a double-edged sword because if you predict the wrong outcome for your special match, your point will be deducted by 10. Starting from season 05/06 onwards, it is no longer compulsory to assign a special match.

If there is a canceled match in a PL round, there will not be a "special match" because it would be unfair for members who had previously selected that canceled match as their special match.

5) PREDICTING THE SCORERS
First of all, there are some pointers that you have to take note of:
  1. It works only in Inter's matches
  2. You are only predicting Inter's scorers
  3. You can only get the points if you correctly predicted the number of goals that Inter scores
  4. You get 5 points for every scorer correctly predicted
  5. Not all scorers that you predicted have to score in order for you to earn some of the points
  6. You don't have to predict the correct outcome of the match for you to earn the points
  7. In a round whereby there is more than 1 Inter match, you can predict scorers for all Inter matches
Below is an example on how the points will be awarded.
  • Actual scoreline: Inter 3-0 Milan (Adriano, Adriano, Martins)

Your prediction: Inter 4-1 Milan (Adriano, Recoba, Recoba, Martins)
No. of points you get: 5 (Correct outcome) (No extra points for scorers' here because you predicted that Inter would score 4 but in reality, Inter only scored 3)

Your prediction: Inter 3-1 Milan (Adriano, Recoba, Martins)
No. of points you get: 5 (Correct outcome) + 10 (You only predicted that Adriano would score once, hence you will only get 5 points from him plus another 5 from Martins) = 15

Your prediction: Inter 3-0 Milan (Adriano, Adriano, Martins)
No. of points you get: 10 (Correct outcome) + 15 (Correct scorers) = 25
You can assign Inter's matches as your special match too (See point 4). However, even if you predict the correct scorer and get some points out of an Inter match, you will still get a deduction of 10 points under the 'Special' column if you predict the wrong outcome of the match. For example:
  • Actual scoreline: Inter 3-0 Milan (Adriano, Adriano, Martins)
Your prediction: Inter 3-3 Milan (Adriano, Adriano, Martins) :star:
No. of points you get: 0 (Correct outcome) + 15 (Correct scorers) - 10 (Special match mistake) = 5
This rule will take effect starting from the 05/06 season.

6) PRIZE
Winning the league entitles you to an Inter jersey of your choosing. Between this season and the next, home or away. Please read the new rules.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why don't I get the result in my e-mail?
There has been a change. I have finally learned how to upload and post an image from my computer into the web. So, now you will view the result in this topic.

Oh my God! Oh my God! I missed the PL for 4 weeks in a row. I swear Please let me in again and I swear I will be active!
Alright but it depends on whether you were active in this game or not. ;)

Oh no! The season has already begun. :( Can I still join?
Yes, you can join in at any one point of time during the whole course of the season. However, you will have to start from scratch. ;)

Help! I wanna change my prediction but I can't edit it out!
Yes. The 'Edit' feature was disabled from this forum so as to prevent cheating. Make a new prediction and I will take your latest. Do notify me in the thread that you have made a new prediction though.

UPDATE: As of beginning of season 2008/2009, due to the bug which still allow members to edit their posts, we will completely disallow (not count) posts that have been edited. If they want to make an adjustment to their prediction, they have to post a completely new post.

What time zone do you use for the times you posted in the topics?
Central European Time. It is the GMT +1, I believe. Be careful of the daylight saving time though. Daylight saving time starts on the last Sunday in March and ends on the last Sunday in September. In Britain and many other countries worldwide, it lasts from March 30 to October 26.

Outcome!? Results!? Scores!? What's the diff, Han!?
Outcome ---> Away win, draw or home win
Scores ---> Example, Juventus - Inter 0-2

Why do I read different rules posted by Han in the next few posts?
Ignore them and just refer to this post. I am merely giving some suggestion in this topic and when it's accepted, I'll update this post. I repeat, ignore the rest of the posts and just read this one.

Guys, I think we can revamp the league here and there next season. For example, the scorers thing. Here's how it will work:
  • 1) It works only in Inter's match
    2) You can only get the points if you correctly predict the number of goals that Inter score
    3) You get 5 points for every scorer correctly predicted
For example:
  • Actual score: Inter 3-0 Milan (Adriano, Martins, Vieri)

Your prediction: Inter 4-1 Milan (Adriano, Recoba, Recoba, Martins)
    Your points: 5 (Correct outcome)

Your prediction: Inter 3-1 Milan (Adriano, Recoba, Martins)
    Your points: 5 (Correct outcome) + 10 (Correct scorers) = 15
What do you think?

Another thing that I would like to change is the special match system. I think that it should be changed to optional and not compulsory. Also, because of the scorer thing for Inter's matches, you cannot assign Inter's matches to be your special match otherwise your prediction will be 'unbalanced'.

Please respond to these suggestions. If you do not, I take it that you agree! :dielaugh:

Due to its controversial nature, we will not be predicting the CL qualifiers (bar Inter's) next season. However, we will still be having a pre-season round in which the points accumulated will matter and will be taken into account at the end of the season. We will predict a selected number of matches from the EPL or La Liga in the pre-season.

If you disagree with this, please raise the issue now and not during the course of the season. Thanx. :)

We will start predicting season 05/06 in 13 August 2005. We will predict selected EPL matches as the pre-season round before the Serie A officially begins. I may add some La Liga fixtures as well. Please be informed that the points you accumulate in the pre-season round will count in the overall league itself.

If in the next week or so, I receive no objections or other suggestions, I will update the rules section and these rules will apply starting from next season. ;)

Hmmm, I think the "Edit" function has been disabled for normal members in this PL forum. ;) Try it.

But of course, the admins can still edit their posts. It kinda explains why the top 2 predictors last season were both admins.:)

:dielaugh::lol::howler:

Seriously, we can edit our post but if you trust us with the forum, surely you can trust us with predicting honestly. ;)

Guys, I made a terrible mistake there. The 05/06 season of the Forza Inter Prediction League will instead start on the 9th of August. I forgot that there are CL qualifiers to be played. I will open the topic in the next couple of days when all CL participants are confirmed (There are still some 2nd round qualifying games to be played tonight). Please predict. I'm really sorry for the mistake. :stress:

I'm really going to try hard to make it every week, I've never been able to consistently be present throughout any Prediction Leagues.

I will join and be here every week guaranteed (unless something extraordinary happens to me and I can't make it).

Nice touch with the "prediction inter 7-0, actual score: 8-0" - that was beautiful. Made me laugh a lot. :D

RULES HAVE BEEN ADDED & CHANGED

The main changes are mostly on the scorers' & special match rules. These changes will take place for the 05/06 season onwards.
