Liverpool-Milan
- Maignan in the first Liverpool goal, almost statue-esque. Deflection of course when the player was trying a vertical pass, but you'd be burying Handa for that, of course. Just like people were burying him for conceding a goal from Perisic's face when Marusic had initially shot it 180 degrees elsewhere. Either way, Maignan, no reaction to the 1st goal.
- Maignan in the second Liverpool goal was just waiting for a free Salah to control a relatively high ball in the small area and just stood there. Crucify him? Actually yes, that was a disaster of goalkeeping (though probably offside).
The irony is that Maignan was actually pretty solid tonight. But if this was Inter's GK he'd be hearing about how useless he is.
Sheriff-Shakhtar
- For the 2nd goal, Pyatov just stands there while Sheriff's header goes in. Booooo!
About our game, Courtois did not do a single save where he had to move his body more than 30cm. Check the full highlights again. Not a single one. The only big save was the first, with his trailing leg on the floor. All other shots on target were straight on his face or body with the corner being the only exception where he had to move a little. But you would also assume that was 'straight at the keeper' from a quick look.
I get that conceding goals isn't nice, it's a terrible feeling. But reacting this way about it is silly. Blame Handanovic for fumbling that pass early in the game, but not for the goal which was just bad defending and even worse luck.
