Damn, one time I praise him but then the cold hard evidence shows he actually fucked up again and just got lucky.

It was a very lucky save, but he's had a good game overall and conceded two goals that wouldn't really have been saved unless more luck was in place.

It was lucky in the sense that Handa was in no position to guide it, it just wobbled at the top of the bar and out. Could have gone in.

Handa had a good game. Anyone who blames him for that 2nd Napoli goal is mental, Handa's attempt to save it was fucking awesome, he miraculously almost got there. Anything less than a perfect strike from Mertens would have resulted in a God level save.

Second goal was impossible to save from where Handa was standing, Mertens was clever to spot that he came out a step too far and that the ball can easily arch over him. Ballsy attempt and a great execution.

A few elite saves however on other occasions, good effort all in all.

This was in my opinion his best match this season, despite the lack of any real saves to make. He commanded the box, got all his passes right and even left the line on a few crosses.

Just to stop messing with the Toro thread.

Some random videos of goals (there isn't a wide selection of videos of goals conceded by a specific goalie) that I found on youtube.

Check how many times "the goalkeeper didn't move/react". Also check how each goal was scored, the situation, the time it took for the ball to be visible to the keeper, to reach the goal, how obstructed the view was and how close to his body the shot was. If you know the basics of body language, you can understand when a keeper is just hopeful the ball can somehow land on his extended body and when someone just knows it's a dead cause. Lots of these guys who make lost cause attempts clearly have no awareness of where the ball is and where it's going, you don't need to be some behavioral expert to spot it.

All i know is that Handa has not been a problem this season. He had only 1 or 2 bad games. There's also reports saying he could stay for another year, so don't be surprised if he'll be the first choice next season as well, if he will continue to have a good season. Onana is good, but he's nothing special. He will also come here after not playing for almost 2 years, as I dont see Ajax replacing a goalkeeper half way into the season, even if that guy is 38. There has also not been a good GK from the Eredivisie in over 20 years, since Edwin van der Sar.
