Funny you say that. Not sure if many remember, but it reminded me of Juve v Werder Bremen when Tim Wiese literally rolled the ball to Emerson for an easy goal.

Quite the shocking error. Like horrifically bad. We really should be looking at a replacement this summer. Samir has been a great servant for us but he’ll be 37 soon and is starting to decline it’s quite apparent.

We will buy a replacement next summer and will run Handa and the new guy as 1A and 1B keepers next season. Of that's what I'd do. Unless we can find a true gem you can take it immediately from the point he's signed which I find very unlikely.

Exactly. And that's the issue when you play Handanovic even in cup games. If Handa hadn't got injured last season, Padelli would probably still be our second GK as we wouldn't have realised he isn't good enough to be a backup GK.

Well this season it has already happened more than once. He also had a fuckup in the match against Benevento.

Benevento error was bad but it was more of a collective fuck up and tactical breakdown.

First goal wasn't totally on him cause the ball deflected, however there are goalies who'd still be able to try and sometimes even save, but anyway, the 2nd goal was savable.

I am forever thankful for Samir's loyalty and his service which he had been providing in the past years. I am sure he earned bunch of points for us throughout his career at Inter, but it's time. His lack of confidence in the goal is conveying to the team.

Nothing to do on the first goal. That was a nasty deflection (Roma always seem to get these when we play them).

On the second I would have liked to have seen him give more of an effort-- maybe he wouldn't have gotten there, but it was definitely within the grasp of some keepers. It looked as though he thought it was trailing off wide.

There's not much more that can be said. He's at the end of his career and we need a new starting keeper next year.

Yeah. This is really the last season we can win Scudetto with him. That's why I so badly hope we can do it. Just for Handa alone who's been our saviour and loyal servant through all the banter years. This decline just seems to come year too early. Decline in terms of his moving ability, because it's clear his ballwatching happens when he realizes he can't catch the ball so he doesn't even try. First was not saveable but I don't know about the second. Maybe Handa just couldn't get it and he knew it, but it just tells that he's not the same anymore. It wasn't that powerful header after all.

The posters defending Handanovic to the death and seeking to always absolve him of 100% of any blame whatsoever, are becoming as annoying as those who do the same for Conte.
