No I'm acting like I just watched a very bad game because that's exactly what I saw.

I think this game serves as a nice dose of reality. For as good a job as Marotta did this summer, our team is not as good in the coaching department nor on the field as it was last year. We can still win the league by all means, but it's gonna be a much tighter fight. Looking forward to a fun season.

I don't think we played badly. We just didn't have balance there properly. Also if Sensi didn't got injured, we would have got our last 15 mins when we've usually really good if we're chasing a goal. We got denied of that. Of course there are lots of things to be fixed but we created chances, we just need to fix the defensive phase.

didnt have time to watch the match, but from the highlights, it's a typical inzaghi game, could have gone both ways, yes we had chances to win it, but dont forget d'ambrosio clearance.
he will need to rotate, the schedule will be tougher and tougher, injuries, tiredness, good times.

The players looked gassed. The heat plus the international break took it’s toll. Even so, we still had a decent amount of opportunities to take all 3 points. Defense has to be tightened up though. There was so much space out there for Samp to exploit.

Also Sensi needs to retire.

inzaghi is good but against semi good teams like samp we see mistake he is doing with dzeko playing him almost as midfielder. come on guy is a striker not a mid and if we want to go deep in europe midfield has to play with initiative and purpose no just crossing balls or runing around dzeko. dzeko needs to be benzema basicly not play 30-40 meters from goal but 10-20

100%

I have no idea what some people are so optimistic about. The biggest redeeming factor for me is that none of our competitors have made any significant leaps to overtake us.

Say what you like about Lukaku, and everyone knows I'm a big critic of his, but we've essentially lost one of the best "small team crushers" in the world. Despite the fact that he's big game flop and a flat-track bully, that's an extremely valuable asset to possess in the league.

Yeah, we may be forced to play vaguely more "team-like" in Europe, where's this guarantee that everyone is going to suddenly gain +20 points in teamwork? That too with a significantly less talented manager? That too with a significantly worse team?

For all the "DzEkO mAkeS thE TeAm PlAy BetTEr" bullshit (which is true btw), that is still a significantly lesser factor than having more individualistic but far superior players. Lukaku and Hakimi were game-breakers. They could pull some shit out their ass which would win us games out of nowhere. We've lost that.

I think this will be a painful season. We might still win the league, but it'll be painful.

I think you just tend to always look at cups half empty when it comes to anything Inter. It's only the start of the season after a hectic summer and we pulled 7 out of 9 points with some freaking banging goals. Yeah the defense is not all that but god does it annoy me when people here always focus more on it rather than the attack, it's like grained in our DNA to expect good to great defending irrespective of how utterly shit we are at attacking and playing 0 dimensional football (not sure what I'm saying but you get it).

We have regressed slightly from last season with the departures we had but man am I looking forward to our attacking play and I still think our squad is better than all the other teams in the league, Juve for example look the worse they've looked in years.

You guys do realize that we lost against Samp last season playing a lot worse than last Sunday with mastermind Conte at the helm.

I mean I'm really worried about our midfield because it was the weakest area of our squad last year and this year is even worse but it's not time to panic yet either.

It's good for us, a reminder that we are not without our own problems and that we can't just easily win all the games.

The problems is that we have Real Madrid to play against and we could lose our cool if we lose this one

I missed the Sampdoria game due to the hour that is was played and was not prepared to lose sleep over it. I was pissed about the result but brought myself to watch the match in its entirety yesterday and this morning.

The first thought I had is that our performance was not as bad as some posters made it out to be. I think we could have put the match to bed if one of the following had happened: (1) Skriniar testing the keeper with his uncontested header in the second half (in his defence, it was hit at pace and he did a good job to even connect with it); (2) Correa burying the chance he had shortly after coming on; and (3) Çalhanoğlu's criminal miss in the second half where he failed to get his shot on target).

I also think that tiredness from the international break and the heat in which the game was played were significant factors in the way we performed.

I looked at the goals we conceded and do not think Handanovic was at fault for either. The first took a deflection off Dzeko which left Handanovic stranded whilst the second was struck so sweetly that there was absolutely no stopping it. In many regards, it was similar to Martinez's beautiful strike. For both goals, I am not sure what Handanovic could have done better. Calling him statuesque as some of the posters on here have done was a bit harsh.

Personally, I do not think it is all doom and gloom. Obviously, we are a different team from last season but we still have a lot going for us.

I agree. I don't get all the doom and gloom about the team's performances either. Guess that's became a part of cliche in this forum, or the fact that we're so used to defensive football that we can't handle the opposite with a bit of defensive leaks.

I don't expect a team with a new coach and new players to have a perfect show week in week out but I'm quite happy with what I've seen so far. Much better than the god awful football we have seen for many years with 1 whooping title to show for it!

Sure there are some defensive concerns, but they're not that big to whine about it every day.

As long as our main players don't get injured for the most of the season, we'll be contenders. Also the Real Game is the only one where we didn't score a goal, but even with that our stats is still 3 goals per game. A nice sweet spot, that

I got it mixed up with one of our earlier games.

I had streaming difficulties for the match against Sampdoria. I was exchanging emails with BeinSport because my subscription was not registered which prevented me from watching it live.

I was pissed off because I do not often get to watch games during prime time (8:00pm ACT). In the end, the problem with my subscription was solved once the game had finished. I was too pissed about the problem with my subscription and the result to watch the game that night and only managed to get back to it a few days ago.
