Does it matter? As long as we MOSTLY keep fucking up against Spanish teams, it's clear we aren't there yet. We should've progressed against Atletico last season and yet we shat our pants yet again - and that Atletico side is not world class either.

Also our games this season against bigger opposition were more miss than hit and that is worrying to a degree.

We aren't on Real's or Barca's level yet. But we are close by, which is why I hope we have that great summer window to upgrade this squad.

Actually what I think, winning CL for now is not as important as actually looking like we deserve to play against Bayern, Barcelona or Real Madrid. We have a chance to prove something.

I sort of get what you mean but at the same time, your basis of "world class" is a phantom argument. There's no such thing as a world class team, at least in the notion that you're describing or expecting.

People worry about numbers too much. Even if the season ended tomorrow— 10goals and 8assists playing for a champions league serie a side as a 20yr old is damn impressive. By the time this guy is dominating the league, it will be too late and he’ll be worth 75mil. I don’t see how you can watch this guy and not be at least a little impressed.. but different strokes for different folks they say. You also have to consider playstyle and Castro very much a good fit for a front 2 imo.

We wouldn’t end up spending 40mil cash if we get him. There are a few player in discussion between him, Fabbian, Asllani— there will be some kind of deal worked out here.

I would love for once be in a space where Lautaro is overrated. Most of the time people are talking about him like he is some scrub who is barely contributing and is playing cause we don't have better options.

Also first time finding out that Hakan and de Vrij are overrated. Especially de Vrij who was actually underrated most of his time at Inter. Agree with Zielinski. Maybe Dimarco. Frattesi not really.

There were football media people saying De Vrij has been on his king shit since he came to Inter and us, the fans that actually watch most games, know that isn't true. So that makes him overrated in this case. On this forum, he's been underrated last season because nice&tidy performers in defence usually are and he only really got the same recognition again after we won the 20th Scudetto.

Frattesi is talked as Italy's next best midfielder and he is falling short of that.

It's interesting. Different people seeing different perception of this team out there. I think I never heard anyone calling Lautaro WC for example. Especially not fans and people on social media. I also don't really care about this WC term and is some player is that or not.

Agree with you on a part that @.h. quoted.

There was a not-so-small contingent of Inter fans who thought Lautaro deserved a Ballon d'Or shout last season.

7th place is still pretty good for a player in Serie A, all things considered. We all know mostly EPL and LaLiga players are usually up there in the last 20 years.

As far the public and media perception goes, I think people overrate Lautaro, Frattesi (who I think would play better in a different system), Calhanoglu, Dimarco, De Vrij and Zielinski. The reality is that these are all really good players, but I wouldn't say any of these are world class. The best two on this list - Dimarco is too inconsistent, same with Lautaro. It's like we only see them in their peak form about a third of the season and that seems not good enough if you want to call Dimarco or Lautaro World Class (which people do, and I'm not talking about this forum).

Bastoni and Barella are the only ones that are so highly rated and it feels like the truth. Like prime, top3 players in their position in the world. Acerbi, Sommer, Dumfries, Thuram and Pavard are also correctly rated - I think most people would give them a 4/5 rating. Augusto is underrated, but okay that's my bias.

Let it be known that I do not need even one world class player for Inter to be winning a lot of titles. World class players are a rare commodity and we don't have the money to compete with Real Madrid type of club that keep buying WC players. What we have is a really good core that would make us instant CL contenders if we added a world class player in attack (striker or wingback) + that new CB we are all screaming for. This is how GOOD we are and that's amazing. Some of us already believe we are CL contenders, just not the main culprits for it.

I also think that some of these players I mentioned have enough potential to become even better and that makes me happy that we are still keeping our core.

I do hope we'll have the full squad (-Zielinski) ready for Bayern and we show the world what's up. Maybe then I'll update my overrated/correctly rated/underrated list.
Finally someone speaking the truth

Agree with most, except for Lautaro; I think if a striker is consistently banging goals 95% of the time has to do with form.

Even the over-glorified Haaland had his goal drought this season.

Agreed he fits and he looks very promising, but if we know it then Bologna knows it and I'm not sure they would accept some exchange deal. This guy is their chance to make real money imo

Actually they made a lot of money with CL this season, and the sales of Califiori and Zirgzee.
They can always decide to cash on him, especially if there is interest from EPL, but they may accept a counterpart as well.
I guess they will try to sell him on a high evaluation - 40-50mln, and if there is no club willing to pay that, they may agree a different kind of a deal.
