If Juve really does sign De Ligt for 15m net a year, they could end up going the same route we went following the treble (hopefully, not including the CL trophy) with huges wages for players becoming unafordable and hindering any resale value (consider Sneijder for instaance).

Its not like ajax defense was brilliant in cl, they conceded goals left and right, their defense was probably the cause of their last minute exit and overall hanging by the thread campaign in cl. There was also some financial creativity we were able to do with the Nainggolan that we wouldn't have been able to do with Cancelo because Valencia had FFP issues of their own. That's why his transfer to Juve was finalized prior to the end of the 2017-'18 financial year.

The economics to retain Cancelo simply didn't exist. Bitching about that is just bitching for the sake of bitching. There wasn't a whole lot we could've done to keep him.

Massive profit? No way will they make 40-50 million profit, Man City will not pay 90 million for Cancelo.

And what does Politano have to do with Cancelo? Valencia needed 40 million by June 30th last year, while the money for Politano is being paid this year. Sometimes I get the feeling you have no understanding of how these things work, and just say things for the hell of it lol.

We already have 3 players in his position. Asamoah, Perisic, Dalbert. It will make little sense getting another left wingback before offloading at least one of Perisic and Dalbert.

Every other club would have a bidding war with clubs like PSG, City, Barcelona, Liverpool, Real, United, Bayern and so on.
