Im more impressed their buying than sales. Kulusevski 35m, Bastoni 31m next biggest sales they have made. Its decent but overall they have sold their best players like Kessie, Cristante, Mancini… for 19-25 million. Papu Gomez was different cause something happened between Gomez and Gasperini and left just 5-7m.

Of course Romero sale is big one and a good one for Atalanta at this current climate but overall I think they should have milked someone like Kulusevski more?

Atalanta seems to have good scouting network and good environment for players to perform and discover their ability. There is just right amount of pressure and expectation for the players and over all Serie A level have decreased over the years so they can compete for top 4 places.

Have to say Bastoni, De Vrij and Skriniar was good deals from Inter ;)

Our entire starting eleven is composed of great purchases. Every regular starter was an absolute bargain.

The problem with this club is that there are about fifteen overpaid, poor purchases out on loan/sitting on the bench.

Atalanta doing such an amazing business, once again. They bought Romero for 17m€ from Juve.

There were reports Juve are angry on that cheap 16-18M option and wants to sabotage it for taking the player back for next season, as its a 2 year loan and option. This piece of shit club has no shame.

Btw, Atalanta wants Demiral.

Rube 100% wants Gosens in that deal, hopefully Atalanta changes to new target. Loca and Gosens. Instant upgrade.

How can you forgot to put Lord Gags in that list? We paid 20-25 mio for Gags. what a robbery.

As to Bastoni, in hindsight we can say its a good deal, but they made a really good deal getting 31 mio for unproven 18 years old. He was not a starter in Atalanta, I think he was rarely play in Atalanta. very good business for them.

Though we didn't pay 31m€ in cash. I'm sure we paid over 10m€ of that with inflate-valued kids.

The initial deal for Bastoni was 8m plus bonuses. But then we wanted Atalanta to take:

-Eguelfi for 6m
-Bettella for 7m
-Carraro for 5m

We also cut short Bastoni's loan to Atalanta one year earlier than expected because he wasn't getting playing time and that's how we ended up with 31m as his official transfer fee.

Very underrated transfer by us, this. All those other guys are useless

Who the fuck were those 3? They were real? And I don't mean real footballers but real people? Or fake ID's? At the end Bastoni cost us a little bit more than 10m which is a fucking good deal, if you look how he developed.

Well that happens on most of the clubs! Of course before Marotta we had a shit show and its hurting us for years to come! I feel bad to say but only Jube has had only few misses over the years like Bernardeschi, Pjaca, De Scilio…

Real had few big ones like Hazard, James, maybe Jovic?

Barca is something else Coutinho, Dembele, Griezman 🤭 That is massive!

But yes Atalanta have made good moves over the years and have awsome scouting network. At Inter it was messy decade with 3 different owners and lot of coaches and no one at charge so Kondogbia, Barbosa, Joao Mario, Radja, Vecino, Gags, Dilbert happened!

But now under Marotta we have had less of those big misses and I only count Lazaro a big one. Vidal and Kolarov came small fee but big salary, no biggie these happen. Sensi and Sanchez are good and useful players but injuries have had too big part of their performance, but these also happens on every club! Now we are at Covid era and its a big blow with our finances!

Hope Inzaghi can make some of our garbage useful?

Good piece of business. That being said, that’s a big loss for them. Romero is one of their better players, if not best. If they lose Gosens and Ilicic as well, which seems likely, I don’t see them competing for a CL spot. But I’ve been surprised before by what Gasp manages to pull off in Bergamo.

They can replace Romero with Tomiyaso of Bologna. Of course he's worse than excellent Romero but Gasperini is quite a magician. Gosens can be replaced by Maehle. They don't even have to buy anyone (apart from a backup for Maehle).

I'm pretty certain Atalanta is a lock for top4.

Yes, Atalanta is good. Romero is excellent, but replacing him is not impossible by any means (Tomiyasu is an example). Maehle is also pretty good.
But what I likes most is their midfield: Freuler, de Roon, Malinovsky, Miranchuck, Pessina and Pasalic. None is worldclass, but all of them are good. 6 players with different characteristics for 3 positions. This is a luxus.
I am not sure is a lock for top4, but they are one of the favorites.
