Almost all markets tbh. English is a lingua franca and more and more used on a global scale every year. Italian, Spanish and German leagues would never be able to keep up just on the power of the English language alone.
That is the excuse Italian league has been using for a while. English helps, but lets not ignore the marketing, quality of production, pitches, stadium, atmosphere, etc that EPL has been spending so much money on since the 90s. In the 90s Serie A had pretty much every football superstar, and decided that they don't need to do anything else to market the league world wide. Even then, EPL created a better TV product and increased their market share in emerging markets like Asia. That is when this battle was lost, and the impact of that investment is showing now.
