Almost all markets tbh. English is a lingua franca and more and more used on a global scale every year. Italian, Spanish and German leagues would never be able to keep up just on the power of the English language alone.

That is the excuse Italian league has been using for a while. English helps, but lets not ignore the marketing, quality of production, pitches, stadium, atmosphere, etc that EPL has been spending so much money on since the 90s. In the 90s Serie A had pretty much every football superstar, and decided that they don't need to do anything else to market the league world wide. Even then, EPL created a better TV product and increased their market share in emerging markets like Asia. That is when this battle was lost, and the impact of that investment is showing now.

haha I was like did we have a good offseason :)

What counts as good or great.... Management wasn't stupid enough to sell Lautaro, Barella, Bastoni or Skriniar. + paying 15 million to pay for loans of players we don't want but paid 20 million for or 4-5 million euro golden handshakes but not replacing the players.

Who said they are title contender?

Best striker in the league in 2020-2021 is back on our team. Lost our LM who we replaced by Gosen who is potentially better. Have just as weak of a bench as last season were we lost the league title by 1 point.

I think that makes us contenders. Milan are champions so they are contenders and Juve is always one even tho they had a real bad season last year. They have reinforced the best out of all the teams. Our goal should be champions league places + 2nd round champions league each season while fixing our financial situation.

Until we have a stadium + lower this debt we will never be at Juve's level who are the team to be like in Italy regardless of how most of you feel about them.

Napoli, Roma, Lazio are choke artist. Atalanta might go back to being shit after changing coaches

Was talking about Roma.

I'm with you though regarding us being a title contender despite all the loser talk here. Its like they don't learn from last season lol. The beginning of last season people were saying we'd be fighting for top4 till the last matchday, yet we steamrolled top 4 with ease.

Though I'd have to disagree with your assessment of gosens, perisic is definitely better.

Roma seems to have a good squad to challenge the top 4 imo, they just need proper backups in a few areas. Shomurodov, Zaniolo and Veretout might leave and then most likely they'll focus on defensive reinforcement.

The defense is poor and the squad is injury prone, but with Napoli tearing down their squad I think anything less than 4th is a disappointment for Roma.

If we can sell Hakan, Dumfries and Pinamonti (+ eventually Casadei), and this way to save Skriniar, i'm all for it.

Hakan 25-30
Dumfries 35-40
Pinamonti 15-20

Low end that is potentially 65m high end 90.

I mean I would prefer to keep Casadei and give him minutes.

Out of all of them Hakan at 28 and his wages I was hoping someone would buy him. Just seems kind of late if the season starts in 10 days….. to lose 2 starters

our market left are either LWB or CB post (depends on Darmian role, Lazaro departure opened it)

if Hakan/Dumfries or whoever would gone, the club task would be harder to replace that post.

That defense is bad imo. Midfield not solid enough. Looks good on paper but remains to be seen on field

i mean no one was interested in Hakan when he was free except us ( due to eriksen ) and some Quatari club.
What makes you think a club will now pay 25-30 m for him

I much rather prefer that we don’t sell Casedei.

I’m also not exactly cheerful over selling a striker that in a relatively young age scored the same amount of goals in Serie as 36 year old Dzeko and who is much less heavy on the wage bill. I would much rather prefer us to get rid off Dzeko and use Pinamonti as super sup, especially as that would be a far more long term solution then keeping Dzeko who is leaving next summer and we then need to find a replacement for.

I much rather get rid off Dumfries needed be.

I agree Roma’s defence is weak, the team also have several questions mark in regards to holding up for an entire season.

Roma’s midfield is shit tbh. Matic as a starter? Yikes. And Wijnaldum coming off a terrible season in France against inferior opponents and soon to be 32. Their front 3 looks good and might be enough to get them into the top 4 if they remain healthy but let’s not go overboard.
