Those Juventus salary figures are surprisingly modest with the glaring exception of Vlahovic and his staggering near 400,000 euros a week deal. I can see why Oaktree want to go a different direction to get our wage bill more under control.

If we renew Thuram with a new salary, will growth decree still apply?
I'm not quite sure, the Italian government has reportedly abolished tax benefits for the Growth Decree since February.
Perhaps Cafe or anyone else can give more info.

Yes, AFAIK it will continue. He arrived before the law was abolished and I don't think they can just deny the tax benefit from the people who got the benefit (since it was for people who specifically came in to the country and the said benefit was the part-reason for it for the most). The limit is 5 years but I read somewhere if you have young kids/bought house, that can be extended. With Thuram or Pavard, that's not relevant as of now, more so with Mkhitaryan from the current players.

Alright, lets include housing as part of the compensation in, win-win.

Actually, he is one of our low-costs player.

J Martinez is higher cost than Mkhi?!! Damn; that is I am not so so against signing old players when they are free.

Like I doubt we can get any resale value if J Martinez doesn't turn out well.

Josep Martínez is getting paid way too much for not contributing anything. It seems like we've been scammed.

He is our future starter. That is the idea of management and Inzaghi

Exactly. People just refuse to accept it. Management and coach saw something in Martinez that made them go for him. Whether they were right or wrong remains to be seen.

At a point people have to accept that coach and management may see things differently than they do.

"Future starter" is far from a sure thing. He must be good enough first.

Gosens was supposed to be a future starter too reflected via his price tag. But if he can't surpass Augusto, he is still a goner.

That Acerbi net salary cannot be true by any means. Some error there.

Martinez salary is just fine, was a starter in Serie A and performed well enough, not a kid anymore etc. Groomed to be starter here eventually. If Bisseck continues the way he's been doing, he's up for a nice raise, Asllani remains to be seen if we just sell him and replace with a better player, he's up for a raise aswell soon (so that's the point of a sale if that's the decision).

If the idea is to avoid getting any shots against us in 95% of our games, then sure, I can see Josep being a valuable starting GK

The one that stands out for me is Arna. I appreciate his role and attitude towards his teammates, but financially ffs  it was a bet, at a tough moment, but seeing it on a list with others...

The new GKs salary is fine, if anything over the past few years ppl leading the club have earned the benefit of the doubt imo

Based on what? He hasn't proved anything to be seen as our future starter. Inter's starting GK should be someone better than what JM has shown at Genoa.

I'm imagining that, and I hope this is not too radical a thought, Inter thinks he can improve as any club does with any player they sign under the age of 26.

It's also really odd how Martinez is being dismissed 3 games into a season in which he has yet to play. Surely him actually making some appearances and showing what he can and cannot give should be the minimum criteria before he starts to be criticised?
