ADL last-minute "operations":
Il Corriere dello Sport report that Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has offered
Callejon a two-year extension to stay, but without a pay rise. The winger would still earn the same €3.5m a season wages as before, a deal Callejon is reportedly not happy with. It’s thought that the former Real Madrid player wants €4m a season.
Napoli have reportedly offered
Mertens a two-year deal at €3m a season, a proposal he doesn’t find acceptable. La Gazzetta dello Sport claim the main sticking point is the signing-on bonus. Mertens would like a three-year deal at €4m a campaign in wages, something the club is refusing to contemplate. Il Mattino state if the striker doesn’t revise his standing, he can leave in the January transfer window. The striker has a €10m release clause, but it is only eligible for overseas clubs. [Dortmund are considering him]
Milan and Atleti in for Matic too
Milan are interested in signing Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, but face competition from Atletico Madrid.
The Serbian international has been consistently linked with a move to the other side of Milan, with Inter coach Antonio Conte a known admirer of the 31-year-old.
The two worked together at Chelsea and won the Premier League in 2016-17.
However La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that now the Rossoneri are interested in Matic.
The midfielder is out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has only made seven appearances in all competitions this season.
His contract expires next June, and it is thought that Milan could sign the player in January for a small fee.
It's suggested he is looking for a contract to June 2022.
Atletico Madrid are said to be also interested in Matic, and could prove to be more appealing.
Coincidentally, Matic had dinner with Wolves Striker Patrick Cutrone in late November, with Cutrone of course being a former Milan player.
The 21-year-old posted a picture on his Instragram account of the two sitting at a table.
Milan copycat our transfer objectives again?
Reports in France and Spain claim that Barcelona defender
Jean-Clair Todibo has rejected the opportunity to join Milan, but Manchester United and Monaco are in the running.
The Serie A club had been linked with the 20-year-old in recent weeks, hoping they could sign the defender on loan with an obligation to buy in January. Manchester United refuse to insert a buy-back clause into the contract. Calciomercato.com had stated that talks between Milan and Barcelona had broken down due to a disagreement on how any potential deal would be structured.
So I am ok with Alonso, but there is no point getting Darmian.
Ok with Vidal or Kulusevski, but there is little point in wasting precious money on Gedson Fernandes or De Paul.
Kulusevski is not available in winter, only if Atalanta reach a deal with Parma, so it`s not really in our powers. Perhaps if we add 5m to that 35m, it could work to compensate Parma as well.
Why do you think De Paul would not be suitable to compete for a starting spot? I`m just curious what are your arguments, given that our entire club from Conte to Zanetti seem to agree on De Paul. Plus, he`s probably the easiest to sign, both time-wise & payment conditions-wise.
