another star is leaving Serie A. Sad. Insigne is great player, too bad Napoli had no money to extend his contract.

Piatek was reported heading to Genoa before this, what causes? Vlahovic is leaving now?

Good move by Burdisso to prepare for post-Vlahovic. First Ikone and now Piątek.
Italiano must be very happy now to play his attacking football with many options in attack.

I guess it would be breaking the loan deal between Atletico and Juve and then Barca signs Morata on loan from Atletico. Atletico would have to return some money to Juve I guess as Juve paid 10m€ for this year's loan too (and they'd acquire that money from Barca then). Issue would remain who could Juve sign to replace Morata in this window?

Which is of course not reassuring for Allegri. I doubt he would risk it if it was up to him.
Aubameyang is another option, which is probably why they want to keep Morata until summer.

Exactly! Was about to write this. Nicolás Burdisso doing some good stuff over there as Technical Director.

Yes, Genoa are only capable to take players on loan for now. Naturally the seller and the player consider Fiorentina a better destination, so Burdisso managed to hijack the deal.

Piątek impressed in Serie A from 2018 to January 2020, when he was sold to Hertha Berlin for €24m and it had been reported he would make a comeback to Genoa on loan and work with new coach Andriy Shevchenko.

However, Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio claims this evening that Piatek is heading towards Fiorentina instead.

Sportitalia expert Alfredo Pedullà maintains it will include an option to buy for somewhere between €16m and €18m.
Piątek has his best years ahead of him and more experienced by now with a lower price tag. Nice job Burdissso!

I think they might be putting pressure on Vlahovic to either sign a new contract, or accept Arsenal's offer, or risk less playing time.
