Fabrizio Romano: Inter are now in advanced talks with Simone Inzaghi on a two-years contract. The agreement is getting closer and he’s set to be the new Inter manager after Antonio Conte.

According to GdS, Sky and SportItalia, Simone Inzaghi is expected to be the new Inter coach.


According to Sky, many coaches had been offered to Inter from England, France and Spain but, after Allegri, Inter's top choice always was Inzaghi.

Seems to me most users here never seen Lazio except matches vs Inter. He did really well with mediocre squad. With ours he can do way better.

If we look at the bigger picture, this is a good choice. The situation we're in now dictates this. We should be fine and make top 4 easily imo.

And to say, Mancini in 2004. had in his CV 2 Coppa Italia, and winning % in Fiorentina 26% and Lazio 48%.

Inzaghi have 1 Coppa, 2 Supercoppa and winning % of 53%.

Inzaghi has been very inconsistent at Lazio.

In 2016/17, his first season, Lazio finished 5th in a season with both Inter and Milan in a bad shape. In the following season they finished 5th, choking in the last games and losing CL qualification in the last match of the season against Inter. In 2018/19 they had a terrible season and they finished 8th. In 2019/20, the only season i think Inzaghi overachieved, they were fighting for the Scudetto with Juve till February but post-covid they had a total collapse and they finished behind Inter and Atalanta. In 2020/21, they had a totally mediocre season and they finished 6th.

I see nothing special in Inzaghi, he's very hot and cold and he would have been fired at Inter during his bad runs. He's exactly where he's supposed to be. That's his level. Lazio.

I posted this about Inzaghi yesterday and my opinion hasn't changed.

If people thought Conte's subs were bad just wait for Inzaghi's. He has lost matches where his team was leading from his subs.

He's very inconsistent and he counts a lot on his players good form. When the players get into a slump he has no idea how to get the team out of it. That's what happened in 2018/19 and post covid. During our famous winter curse he's gonna be a disaster.

He also lacks the winning mentality a top club requires. It was really evident in 2017/18 when he managed to choke against Zenga's Crotone. CL qualification should have never gone to the last match of the season if Lazio had done their job. And then in the match against Inter despite taking the lead twice they managed to lose. This guy makes Spalletti look like a winner.

I can't see us achieving anything more than a top 4 finish with this guy.

I sincerely hope he proves me wrong and i would be delighted to post this on the "quote your worst post" thread.
