Conte get that reward after finishing last in Champions League as far as I remember. So it was fully deserved ;)
On that note, did Pioli get one this season for doing the same?

Ownership are fucking him up for a second season in a row. I won't be so harsh with him next season. As long as he finishes in top 4 he gets a pass from me. Anything more than that is a bonus.

GTFO, we would be so much better off domestically and in Europe if we played 343, 433, 442

With which wingers do you plan on implementing said formation. The squad is not made for a winger system.

If we sell Bastoni which will happen he should def try new system. Play 4 3 3,left side Gosens and Perisic, right side Dumfries and Dybala(if he comes), Lautaro in the center, Bremer and Skriniar two cbs, midfield trio we all know, bring vice Brozo, Mikitarijan can also fit as sub. Atleast fkn Dzeko would be benched. He should try that he has whole summer for that, if it works great, if not then back to 3 5 2,Dambro and DiMarco instead Bastoni lol

lol

Lets wait and see how much we self-decimate our squad this transfer window first.

Come on bruh you're smarter than that. Limone hasn't used 433 since 2016. He's not going to suddenly switch back.

Also the entire reason Dybala is leaving juve is because he can't play RW in a 433. The reason we want him is to play as SS in a 352.

Not trying to have a go at you but it always triggers me when people casually say "oh we should play formation XYZ" and proceed to name a formation that the coach simply does not use

I understand my man, but we are so fucked if we sell Bastoni that we need to try more options cause DiMarco or Dambro on left means we are fkn doomed. Idk anymore this is so depressing.

People wanna compare, between him and Conte for some reason, despite having different starts and resources.

- Simone challenged the Scudetto until the last day, Conte could have finished 4th on the last day (despite ending only 1 pt behind Juventus).

- Simone had to play in Europe mid-week, Conte played in Europe after the season ended.
Arguably a harder schedule. Conte was also lucky with covid, we didn't suffer from it in the first season, but our rivals did.

- Simone got a weakened side that wanted to sell more players, Conte got a 300m transfer kitty.

- Simone had 13-14 Inter calibre players, Conte had 17-18.

- Simone advanced from the CL group and even got a win in the knockouts, Conte couldn't and lost to Barcelona's reserve squad at home, our first ever loss at home to Barcelona (and we played against their best ever side twice).

- Simone got more points than Conte.

- Simone scored more goals than Conte.

- Simone conceded less goals than Conte.

- Arguably much better football all around the year.

- Simone beat Juventus away, and did not lose over 4 games, winning 3 of them! Conte lost twice in 2 games, for the first time since 2011-12!

- Simone won a trophy, against Juventus. Conte lost in a European final as a favorite and failed to reach Coppa final against Gattuso's Napoli.

Not counting the Supercoppa because it was enabled by Conte's Scudetto.

So yeah, back this guy with proper funding, please.

Makes no sense to fire him at this point. I honestly thought we were back to the banter era after the sales of last season.

Imo even if we just kept Lukaku we would have won the scudetto again.

He did well for his first season, bearing in mind that we lost fundamental players in Lukaku, Hakimi, and Eriksen.

Winning 2 Mickey Mouse trophies against Juventus was quite a feat given our woeful records against them in recent times.

Coming up short against Liverpool, a top 3 team in the world in CL is nothing embarrassing. In fact, many thought we were the better team over the 2 legs. Had Sanchez not got sent off, we probably could have won it.

Losing the Scudetto to Milan is depressing, no doubt. Especially knowing that we were by far a superior side. But we all thought it would be just fine if we could finish fourth before the season began, didn't we? Any other season, 84 points would have been enough to win you the Scudetto, but Milan, despite not being that spectacular, managed to grind out results with scrappy wins week in and week out. Kudos to them.

I say give Inzaghi another chance.

there was perisic, and correa can play outwide, we would need to invest in some wide options

anyways, 4312 or 3412 is a better option than 352 flat

We fought for the Scudetto this season, next season hopefully we don't dismantle the whole team. Brozović has to be asking himself why he signed the contract.

Conte had 17-18 'inter calibre players' in 2019? Please show me those 18 'inter calibre' players from this squad list lol.

Conte had to a make a complete tactical transformation from Spallettis Inter and had to integrate far more players, Inzaghi only had to make tweaks to an already succesfull groundwork. Its similar to when Mourinho took over from Mancini in his first year. This is still Contes team and approach to a fair degree.

Young players like Barella, Bastoni and Lautaro were half the players back in 2019, compared to post Conte. Ignoring players progressing and maturing under Conte is pretty silly. Just because many names in the squad are the same from 2019, doesnt mean their ability is.

Conte played the entire season with 3 forwards (Esposito really doesnt count).

Inzaghi had a Perisic on fire to salvage much in this season, Conte had the likes of Biraghi and Young in that position.

People talk about a weakened team, yes weakened compared to Inter 20/21 with Lakuku, Hakimi and eriksen fully integrated, NOT weakened compared to Inter 19/20.
Inter 19/20 was without a doubt a weaker team than the current Inter.

- Many key players (now) were younger and less matured.
- The whole team had to adapt to a completely different tactical approach, compared the previous year.
- Midfield was worse (barella young, first season, no Hakan etc etc)
- defense was worse (Bastoni developing)
- Wingbacks were MUCH worse.
- Only 3 forwards, which tired them out.

Handanovic, Skriniar, De Vrij, Godin, Biraghi, Bastoni, Barella, Brozovic, Sensi, Candreva, Lukaku, Sanchez, Martinez, Valero, + Politano + Eriksen (barely counts) + Young.
And on top of that he had the not so reliable Gagliardini, Vecino, D'Ambrosio, Ranocchia + Asamoah + Lazaro (his choice) + Moses.

Sure, he helped some players progress, that's a given, but he's also ruined a few. Like Godin and Asamoah. And tried to ruin Eriksen and Skriniar as well..

As for today?

Handanovic, Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni, Perisic, Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Çalhanoglu, Martinez, Sanchez, Darmian, Dimarco.
And then you have the following who cannot be relied upon as full time starters : Vidal, Dzeko, Correa, Ranocchia, D'Ambrosio, Gagliardini, Vecino + Kolarov + Sensi + Caicedo + Gosens who's been available for less than 2 months.

You can argue it's marginal or that some players can be on the higher list or lower, but what remains is that Conte had the luxury to build a team with a lot of money and increased his depth in January, whereas Inzaghi couldn't even cover for injures or departures!
