It's not on Inzaghi alone.

Players need to take responsibility too. They even themselves have said that Inzaghi is not to blame. Inzaghi is of course responsible for the output of the team but our players are already experienced enough to carry the burden too.

That is true, but Inzaghi is quite pathetic this season in the seria A. We shat our pants against every semi-decent team like Lazio, Roma, Udinise (in form) and Fiorentina. We got 3 points of those games, only because we were quite lucky in 95+ minute. Inter still have to play with Atalanta, Napoli and Jubentus, which will be another 3 losses most probably. We are in the deep shits, and if something does not change, i don't see how we'll make it in the top 4.
Conte was also shite against only top team to compete in seria A while coaching us, and that was rube. Napoli and beelan were complete jokes then. Only Atalanta was better than now. His record against rube was bad. He beat rube once 2 0 and thats is. CL was massive failure. But have to agree he is better coach than Limonade. Team was more cohesive and he injected winning mentality to players, Limone seems unfit to do that. But in the end both are stubborn and pussies.

The only thing saving Inzaghi this season is CL campaign. Our results and performances in the league are banter like.
Bit early for that I'd say, plus better to have these slumps in form now than later on in the season when it really starts to count, I think we can overcome the gap in points soon enough especially if we can keep this form up.

should be fired... the team is winning on its own..

I can't believe we played Dzeko up top alone..... or him continuing on playing Correa.

Inzaghi can tell you that his side has been able to break down every team he faced, except Bayern and was able to put the team in an advantageous position by scoring first(apart from Lazio and Bayern).

If the team’s so called championship defence is literally faltering and are unable to maintain a lead against both top and average opposition, making some ameuter mistakes, then he can say that’s not on me.

Its not like Inzaghi came in and dismantled the defence or changed the system In his second season. The defensive mistakes that we have witnessed this season against Milan, Lazio, Udinese were something else and can’t be blamed on the manager.

Conceding goals like Ikone’s equalizer for example is one of those that you can’t really fault on player or manager. You can argue that team was defensively exposed, but this team has conceded while defending deep as well.

This team has conceded in every manner;
-set-piece defending,
-4cbs playing and 3 WBS(against Barc);
- while defending deep;
- in transition, etc.

There is no method that a manager can impart to exonerate these mistakes. For example Giroud’s goal in the Milan derby was defensive exposure? There was 11 men behind the ball. Or Lewadonski 1st goal from De Vrij’s failed clearance, the same De Vrij who the week before was so good.

You want to blame it all on Inzaghi and say it’s a system issue? I don’t buy it.

depend on ownership. our owner are shit and of course inzaghi is going to struggle to mask this team weakness (old players, multiple collection of mediocre ones, limited choices, limited technicals)

Credit when it's due, I don't care what you say about him but Sawyer was probably the only one thinking that we'd qualify in this group of death. Grande Simone.

Let the feast of Barca fans' tears begin.

I'm not sure if he has proven anything yet. Yes, he surely deserves credit for making Inter past group stages but this team is far from solid and especially Simone Inzaghi's mistakes are every here and there, be it on line-up selection or making changes through the game. I have said it earlier as well, our campaign in CL won't matter if we keep dropping points in the league.

Then again, Inzagh is not the only issue, but he is the key. He needs to get his shit together and eventually things will get into place.

Don't have one.
In CL he gets 10/10. We qualified from matchday 5 in the toughest CL group. Credit where it's due.
Yep, his positive and offensive football definitely bodes well in cl, coppas etc..., where you have small amount of games to play. Still, there are major question marks regarding the league system where you have almost forty games. That's where he still lacks imo and needs to make major adjustments.

Generally speaking, I agree most of it; there are times on the players and there are times on the coach.
Lazio, Udinese and Fiorentina games have gameplay issues (For the Fiorentina one, the players quality actually won the game for us, along with the recent morale and certainty of the play, despite it was not exactly the right one IMHO)

Ikone’s equalizer on the contrary an example of a tactical decision led to a player's "brilliancy" play or a player's fault (Not all are due to tactical error though), but in short 3-5-2 facing a 4-3-3, especially the Fiorentina's wingers are this fast pace and shift of a CB & Dimarco pressing up, plus Dimarco pairing up with Acerbi, this was meant to happen and also what Fiorentina was hoping for. The goal happened when Dimarco was ahead of the other midfields, who should be the one harassing Kouamé when he was about to make that long pass, instead they set up a screen to block off the pass to Jovic, and Cabral drag Skrinar away from the back, but then Acerbi and De Vrij are stretched thin in the back and is inevitably isolated off into a 1 on 1 situation. This could've been prevented if Dimarco was instructed to be more conservative on the forward run and how far, but obviously this was a compromised on the defense for the attack play.
In a traditional old fashion sense, coaches do like to create these 1 on 1 plays for wingers to take on their man, as you see Jovic did drop back a bit to make the midfielders have a harder time to decide to press up on Kouamé right away, as there is a man in their zonal area.

However, there are games where Inzaghi plays it safe, like the first match against Pizen and last year against Sheriff, you see the positions are more to secure the space that could lead to a counterattack, but he only does it when he is not too worried about the scoring chances.

To prevent this, we need higher quality players, and that is budget thing, imagine if we have a young Kanté in the middle or it was Bastoni against Ikone.

Also like I said before I think the team found themselves since the Roma game, and everything did carry on from there.
Hope Lukaku will bring in some stability in scoring against weaker teams in Serie A.

Anyway, I think we should be happy that we have him as a coach.

Didn't expect to qualify from this group. Great job by everyone and Inzaghi ofc. Hope we get an easier draw this time. Would love to go further in the CL, despite many preferring to go out early to focus on Serie A.

Some were trying to downplay our qualification and win against Liverpool last season to our easy group and Liverpool's indifference in the second leg, but Inzaghi showed it was not just that.

I 100% didn't expect us to go through this group and I'm very glad to eat my words.

However, just like with last year, I have to question whether UEFA changing the order of the last two matchdays bailed us out. Imagine if today was Bayern vs. Inter and Barcelona vs. Viktoria, we lose and they win and we go into the final matchday on equal points and having to win. Would we have crumbled under the pressure again? Have we finally matured past that? We'll never know, really.

I’m beginning to think Inzaghi would be a hell of a manager overseas. His style doesn’t translate wonderfully to Serie A but what he’s done in the UCL the last two seasons show he can be a hell of a coach at times. Nothing but applause for his games vs Barca especially.

Bravo limone on CL qualification. Deserves huge credit for this. He has shown he is far superior than his predecessor in Europe!

I'm pretty confident he's on the top of Liverpool's list for a Klopp replacement down the line.
