Inzaghi was coaching the team the same stuff ever since he came here, it's just that 1. the squad was not adequate to have different winning approaches to games 2. it takes time 3. nowadays most people in the club believe in Inzaghi because he really delivered in cup competitions and so they believe in his tactics and coaching

Remember at the start of last season when we were trying out high pressure but the whole team wasn't up to par? Well, now we are and we also know when to switch mid game. This awareness that the team has is currently the biggest difference between his first season here and now.

Skriniar was more of middle CB than RCB, so he had to play there because we had too many CBs and not enough RCBs. Then we luckily figured out that Darmian can play there and now we also have Pavard. This is incredible how far we came in two seasons.

Calm down, 90-95 goals is Man City and prime Liverpool's territory
Yep, Napoli scored 77 last year and won it comfortably...

We really have to ask the question of where was this tactical flexibility in the last two years, coz you can make a case that it only started to be implemented at the end of the last season when the cl place was out of reach, and in cl league maybe slightly earlier. But where were the low blocks and this tactical flexibility earlier, all we saw majority of the time was gung ho attacking football which wasn't sustainable at all.

That's the thing that I resent him the most right now, especially when you see that he is capable of it. And yes now it's easier to play that way with thuram in attack, but even last year with dzeko and correa it gave us positive results. Ffs I remember people talking about this two months into his arrival here and everyone could see it will be a problem. It took him almost two years to figure the stuff that conte figured in a couple of months in that scudetto winning season.

He is doing a great job right now, I don't remember the last time we looked this good, but I just have to mention this especially coz it was so obvious from the beginning.

You are taking the cards he was dealt with out of the equation, Dumfries 2 years ago were not Dumfries today, SDV was not himself, Correa was ultra shit, Lukaku came here to get injured etc. There were also some other players that are also limited to certain style (Lukaku, Gags), hence you cannot be flexible with the given personnel.

It also takes time for the players to understand his tactics fully and Inzaghi to know them fully. Also Inzaghi was less assure of himself in the past, a trait of being open minded and flexible, glad he overcame this. That also would lead to a bit more confusion, it can only get better from here.

Conte didn't figure things out (no plan B), he had a system, and we bought almost everything he requested for, and as soon as we can't he just left.

I am just super glad we sticked with him. #TeamInzaghi from day 1.

I don't disagree with most of what he said. But playing against lower teams, I don't think we wait for them to create space for us. We do outplay them by constant interchange between midfielders and attackers.

I think it was mentioned before that Inzaghi clearly drilled our team to have different modes. And we already showed that we can bust through minnows. Cagliari never stood a chance against us.

Yea I don't full agree with the video, but lots of good points.
Like we do play build ups and space creating. It is not like we always sit back, we just don't battle midfield for possession, like Madrid.

Kinda cool, cause we never really are like a midfield fighting team, like even at the peak time for this strategy in 2000-2007? Like pretty much the style back then is win the midfield, then you win the game, but we pretty much are lackluster in that department, and now with Inzaghi, we kinda stay true to ourselves and play beautiful and good football.

How do you not love this man coaching us?

Terrible preparation for the game. Only good thing he did was fielding Pavard. Was totally tactically outclassed by Sociedad coach. Luck saved us. Hope he learns something from this. Play your best 11 in CL, play with garbage against Empoli and other Seria A trash.

Seeing that we managed to score, that fills me up with confidence.

But I HATE Sanchez in the "creator" role. He should be quicker with his release

Nah, he fucked up by putting Dimarco on lcb. When he switched Dimarco on Lwb and Augusto to Lcb we started playing better. But he needed fucking 20 minutes to realise that. Bad managing tonight.

yes, agree with this, it should have been Augusto LCB and Dimarco LWB since Dimarxo came in.
there were some confusion there for some minutes, also Dumbfries appearing on the left, then it settled down.

Please don't ever start Asllani and Arnautovic unless it's some Coppa Italia game or we have an empty bench. Subbing them gradually turned us from Mallorca to Inter.

I rarely complain about tactics from him but this was woefully underprepared.

These pressing teams are dangerous the first 30 minutes. You gotta be extra careful in defence.

I think he was more confident putting Dimarco as LCB cause he already played at that spot.

Real Sociedad players were tired and the Japanese player went out, so Inzaghi thought there is no risk switching Dimarco with Carlos Augusto.

I am sorry, but huh? You're playing teams that are clearly weaker than Inter. Stop being a pussy for one second and say that you should win this shit group.

Lets not act like Inter is that much higher than RS in terms of individual quality. We are a bit better, but thats it. Couple that with an early blunder + away game + bad stylistic matchup, we were lucky to get a point, or more importantly hold them to a point. I feel like we all, including Inzaghi and co, underestimated them.

Ultimately, someone like Lautaro is the difference maker between our squads, and he came through.

i really hope its not a thing of underestimation, and i really hope Inter has a competent match analyst who compiles a raport about the opposing team.
some of us FIF members are occasional la liga watchers and we knew what are we up against.
