Midfield has a role to play in this (and controlling the game at points like this) but the CBs being so high up the pitch - pressing instead of getting back in position - is Inzaghi-ball. Its what he does.
Barella/Mkhi are moving positions cos of no Hakan so i'm not convinced the score would have been the same had we had our first team out there - e.g. Acerbi/Hakan.

IMHO we need to build momentum in the league. We dont need to beat Arsenal to qualify for the next stage.

Big mistake imo. Bring the starters. If they can get the job done, bring all the subs and all chill until the end. If they cannot, what's the point of resting starters in the first place?

Minutes spent on the pitch and specially minutes NOT spent on the pitch one of the most valuable resources there is this season, because of Napoli situation, where they have pretty guaranteed 1000 minutes less (minimum) to play during the season. I see no point in Hakan playing vs Venezia and Acerbi wont be ready til Arsenal anyways. Id rest Bastoni for Bisseck and play Darmian on the left to rest Dimarco. Need those two fresh.

Problem is that we aren't that strong and even our starters aren't sure to beat Venezia even if they play from minute 1'. Let alone "some staters" for 20-30 minutes only when they start wasting time and park the bus.

Please, this kind of arrogance is why we are so behind Napoli. Because we lost points versus relegation battlers and backup isn't good enough. See how much we struggle against Empoli with 11 men?

I don't say never rotate, but now is terrible timing. Do that when we are leading the table. Or when Napoli is in shambles. Doing that heavily when they are on form, we are risking 5-7 points gap right before facing them... you'll see the gap increases to two digit and not even prime Inter can surpass that against a master league coach like Conte.

Until we fix this shambolic defending, we ain't catching up to Napoli. I do like that we are only 4 points behind after already playing Roma, Juve and Milan.

If we want that Scudetto, we'll have to win at least one time against Napoli, preferably both.

I thought the discussion lacked a bit of talk of the wingback contribution and how the system opens up Dimarco, but they did point out things in our build-up that you tend to miss because you're worried about the result. The video proves that, despite some of his game management issues, we're idiots to think the grass is greener than with this bloke with this squad.

Flaws aside, interisti should be glad he’s here and practically begging him to stay because a lot of teams would love to poach him— teams with much more money to splash in the transfer market.

And just look at our cousins with fuxking Fonseca. Yes we’re shipping goals for fun right now and we need to adjust, but we’re also very early into a very congested season and we’re 2nd in the league and 7th in CL after 3 of 8. People need to come down from the ledge a bit… We saw last year that we’re capable of being solid at the back; we just need to pinpoint the specifics of what’s breaking down and address them.

It might be very well Napoli wins the league this year. They have way less matches to play and a campionato specialist in Conte, but next season will most certainly be a different story for them. Stay the course and improve with Inzaghi is the only realistic way up.

Conte with no europe and a good squad will be hard to topple. We can do it but were going to have to be relentless vs mid to bottom tier teams. We have little room for error. It'll probably take at least 90 points this year.

Gazzetta have an interesting article about Inter's attack today. While we create more chances than last season our conversion rate is much worse. Last season it was at 50%, this season is at 35% so far. Another problem is we aren't getting any goals from our backup forwards. Even Taremi whose contribution is considered positive so far is still at 0 goals in the league. We badly need goals from the bench.
