Was tactically outcoached by Xabi Alonso, because at first Leverkusen didn't even look that good.

I think we all agree this team lacks pace. And also Inzaghi needs to wake up the strikers. We need more from them.

How so?

They fought to death in entire game, and eventually scored from an invalid goal.

Inzaghi defeated himself last night because of heavy rotation, but I'm not even disappointed because he's kinda predictable in this competition. Even last season, we barely put a proper effort in group stage phase. Inter looked like effortlessly getting a point last night.

Leverkusen was far from impressive actually. Played at home and also against a team that had plenty of changes in line-up.

Had we pushed just slightly harder than in first half, we would likely even win the game I think, but instead Inzaghi's substitutions have shown that he's not interested on winning this, his goal was to not lose.

I just don’t get what his goal was tonight. If he wants to rotate and play conte ball the first 60 minutes fine. But when you put the first team on go for the damn goal. Settling for a point is when it’s minute 80 and your team is playing like shit. He tried settling for a point from the off like we were playing 2020 bayern Munich.
He started a forward in all 6 CL matches who just have 1 goal from the penalty spot in the entire season. Our defence was great but with only 7 goals scored so far (4 of them scored against one of the worst teams in the entire campaign), he needs to adjust his approach in the offence part. He should drop Taremi for the next match and play with Toro-Thuram upfront.

If Inzaghi's team can't even manage ONE shot on goal, that means the opps coach did something that totally neutralized our attack.

Leverkusen also defended with the whole team, but they at least had chances through-out the game.

We need to do better than this.

Just poor, outdated and cowardish strategy. Parking a Bus in away matches doesnt work anymore . Ever since lates 90s and onwards, Italian teams have always been humilated adopting this strategy. Nowdays noone plays like this, Not even Mid Tier Clubs. At this point, i have to say, does he even have what it takes to win Big ears?

We are already well aware our B team is completely ineffectual. Is it really that surprising they did manage to do fuck all against a good team ? Some players still have no place in this team at the same time.
In hindsight this game was not make or break so as annoying as our performance was, nothing of value was lost (except 1 hr and 30 min of our time).

As frustrating as Inzaghi is, if it wasn't for a fucked up call, we would still be all clean sheets. Just a shit call, what can you do.

Having only one Dimarco is a handicap this season.

After Buchanan injury, I never got Inzaghi decision to go for a lcb over lwb last summer. For me Augusto has always looked as a better fit for lcb than lwb in our system.

If Buchanan isn't considered a serious option we need to sign a wide player next summer.

That's why I wrote that. When Dimarco isn't on the pitch, we lose half of our attacking potency

I have hard time believing Inzaghi has been calling many/any shots in any mercato. For instance, he wanted something different in attack (Gudmundsson), got Correa.

I completely agree with his decision to do a heavy rotation. Even with the starters this was a tricky game, so it's better to save some powers in a long term. Our two next matches in CL are easier on paper, so we can easily qualify in top 8 if we stay focused.
A win against Lazio will worth the rotation.

Or do a Napoli bis and lose both.

There are some millions lost for every CL point(s) throwing away too.

That will be definitely bad

The difference between a draw and a loss is not so big to even mention it. And let's not be delusional. We cannot win every single game in CL. Inzaghi is doing fine with the limited resources which we have.

Why draw vs loss only? Atalanta hammered them 3-0, so our starting XI could definitely win. Kusen are far from unbeatable.

Rotation might be right had we had a tighter schedule like Lazio i.e. to close to recover. But that's not the case; our two matches are 6 days apart. Resting too much after a loss is reducing the momentum more than helping imo.

Common mate. Atalanta beat them like 6 months ago. Totally different form, competition and stadium. This shoulds like the most retarded fans of Jube, which are now mocking Inter, because Jube won vs the worst City ever, while we lost and tie City earlier.
