I think we had those opportunities; we just didn't score them. Take Vidal's chance today for example, that was not a cross; also if Barella wasn't foul he is pretty much getting himself into the box with a possible shooting or assisting opportunity.
I mean in some sense it is easier to score from a horizontal pass/cross, cause you are shifting the other team, where the defense was set up for a certain angle, and then here comes the momentum and possibility of out of positions due to bad coordination. Not that much of a surprise, but I don't see us lack of attacking methods; we are just not converting them into goals.

It's always going to be more difficult to see short passes through the center and vertical play against 10 men in their own area.

Not only that. So many times when we counter attack with flow we usually just pass the ball back. The members on FIF is really good at noticing this if its Vecino doing it but seems to be completely blind when someone else does it. If you looked closely last game there were many times Sanchez was in great position for a through ball but it never comes. Atleast our LCB Dimarco is good at doing those passes but he is a rotational player...

I hope he gets well soon. My only concern is that there is no outbreak during the break and in the lead up to the match against Milan. I do not want our preparations for the game to be compromised nor do I want our starting eleven to be compromised due to a Covid-19 breakout.

The match against Milan presents us with the opportunity of knocking them out of the race for the Scudetto, or at least significantly denting any hopes they may have of keeping pace with us. Accordingly, I hope our players return from the International break without injuries and that we will see the game as a real opportunity to eliminate a direct opponent for the Scudetto.
