Dzeko getting involved in the game in our play is not good since he has a negative effect. We would be better off with Sanchez and El Toro.

Because dzeko gets more involved in our play and scores more. Lautaro has done fuck all for about 12 games now.
Does he though? In the last 15 league games Dzeko and Lautaro have the same amount of non penalty goals. 4. Tbh they're both shit at scoring.

How about the last 10 games? (boosting over a like one or two goal lead) 😭

I do wonder if its tactics as to why dzeko is the one who drops deep more, but lautaro doesn't get involved enough even without the goals

Again same. :D 3 non penalty goals for each.

We badly need Correa back so we can start either him or Sanchez next to one of Dzeko and Lautaro.

Because Dzeko is a better playmaker. Lautaro's job is to keep the vertical distance between opponent's defence and midfield.

It's like they know exactly how to defend against Lautaro. Our 352 is starting to be too predictable, which is a shame, because we were in free scoring form at the start of the season

Inzaghi needs to realise Dzeko-Lautaro is a dysfunctional pair and they shouldn't play together. Our attack was totally toothless today.

Also the performance of midfield basically confirms what i have said in the past. We badly need to sign a playmaker in the summer. When Brozovic and Hakan are having poor games, like tonight, our midfield is nonexistent. We need an alternative option on the bench.

Agreed, it’s a shame we missed out on Ricci

If everything else goes on par, he has a couple of "must" wins if we are to label this a very successful season:
- Juventus game. It's about time we win there again.
- Milan coppa. Any way we qualify is good enough, but I cannot survive the season without at least 1 win against them and I cannot tolerate derby 2 losses.
- Coppa final vs most probably Juventus, assuming we go through.
- Liverpool home game.

If everything goes on par, we should expect a Scudetto win and perhaps a Coppa final appearance. That would make it a successful season given the circumstances.

He can be all sorts of stubborn at times but we've seen him make changes when called, but now the problem is that there's not enough staff to fill the roles necessary.

Sensi leaving made no sense, no idea whose decision it was but Inzaghi wanted to keep both Sensi and Satriano in the first half of the season against the management's will and now they're both gone on loan. They hardly featured of course, but arguably only one of them was replaced. Relying on midfield depth called Vidal, Vecino and Gagliardini is a bit of an odd mangement decision but I guess it was hard to get rid of Vecino and Vidal against their wills since they're leaving anyway and have a last chance for another medal.

That list is impossible even with Lukaku and Hakimi.

Yeah. That wouldn't be a very successful season. That would be a 10/10 season considering what happened last summer. :D

Well, a successful season would be to simply win the Scudetto.

Losing it will be a failure given the circumstances. Winning the Coppa alone and failing to at least win against Liverpool once (I didn't say advance btw) would definitely be considered a failed season despite the downgrade. From the club's perspective. From Simone alone, being around the top is decent enough given the whole situation but we all know that's not how he'll be judged.

To an extent. We racked up a bunch of goals against relegation fodder and now we're in the hardest part of our schedule. The rest of our schedule gets significantly easier so I imagine the goals will start coming again. But clearly Dzeko/Lautaro isn't ideal.

Agreed but you were asking for a domestic treble, a win against Liverpool and a win in Turin where we have two wins in the last 15 games. That's basically perfection! :D You couldn't have asked for more with current squad from any coach, not just Inzaghi!

For me Scudetto is what's going to define our season. Europe is already a success by finally reaching top 16. If we can give a challenge to Liverpool, great. But getting eliminated wouldn't be a failure. We're the clear underdogs, especially when we face them with a depleted squad.

Coppa would be nice but only as an added bonus. Winning Coppa alone wouldn't be a great success. Likewise, winning in Turin would be very satisfying but not enough by itself.

The big picture is winning Scudetto. Everything else is secondary

The squad is not good enough for all the matches we'll have to play, especially these upcoming 30-35 days. I am very afraid of injuries and the continuing meh form. Hakan is working hard, but his focus lets him down. Brozo also works hard, but I dread every minute he isn't on the pitch (Sassuolo game will be dreadful for sure). Barella started his Guarin stage, where he shoots a lot (Inzaghi probably said something to him). And even tho they aren't at their best, playing without one of them is cancer for my soul.

I know we'll do good at the end of the season.... But the cluster of games that are coming now could make us drop to fourth place :/

Regarding CL, as long as we don't get humiliated like Inzaghi did with Lazio against Bayern, it's all good. Liverpool is so much stronger with their best players and when they are motivated (and why wouldn't they be).

At this point, Scudetto is given as requirement for a successful season. That wasn't the case before the season but Allegri completely laying an egg at the start of the season made the situation different. Coppa would be a nice bonus, but like brehme said, Coppa final would be good enough for me (with Scudetto in the bag) as that would automatically include beating Milan.

Did I even watch Inter today? That second half was one of the most beautiful attacking football I've watched us play the last 10 years. We were all over the place, the through balls were fucking amazing I loved it. Our strikers doing those runs and actually getting a pass blew my mind. The defense was so fucking stable. Even though we lost I'm not even mad, I enjoyed this game far too much.

Inzaghi outclassed Klopp. And guys, is Van Dijk overrated or what? Since when do we consider a centerback a good defender just because he is fast and strong? That guy was behind so many mistakes in their defense. Like watching a bulked up donkey.

EDIT: Let me add this, even Vidal was playing great who I've been heavily criticizing since he came here. It was like I was watching a completely different team. I hope this continues over to Serie A.

Yep, his genius in creating attacking and sexy football philosopy is undenieable, yet his stubborness on selecting his first team players is awful.
