Yep, his genius in creating attacking and sexy football philosopy is undenieable, yet his stubborness on selecting his first team players is awful.

He did what he could. No point discussing squad depth anymore at this stage. Perhaps it's time to consider playing Perisic as a striker if his stamina allows and if Gosens is fit. And if we're struggling to get a good midfield sub while being a goal behind (like today), can Inzaghi just put Alexis there? He chases and tackles like mad anyway; and after the 70th min it's always an open game whether it's Serie A or UCL.

Might be a solution until or strikers wake the fuck up

Did I even watch Inter today? That second half was one of the most beautiful attacking football I've watched us play the last 10 years. We were all over the place, the through balls were fucking amazing I loved it. Our strikers doing those runs and actually getting a pass blew my mind. The defense was so fucking stable. Even though we lost I'm not even mad, I enjoyed this game far too much.
True
Inzaghi outclassed Klopp.

True to an extent.

And guys, is Van Dijk overrated or what?

Yes.

Since when do we consider a centerback a good defender just because he is fast and strong?

For a while now.

That guy was behind so many mistakes in their defense. Like watching a bulked up donkey.

Wouldn't call him a donkey, he's a solid stopper but he's not a perfect player by any means. Just a perfect fit for Liverpool's game.

EDIT: Let me add this, even Vidal was playing great who I've been heavily criticizing since he came here. It was like I was watching a completely different team. I hope this continues over to Serie A.

Vidal plays well twice a year, don't expect much. There's one more great game left in the tank.

Who did you want him to play? The only alternative was starting Sanchez instead of one of the strikers.

Everything else had no alternative. We had 12 players available, he picked 11.

its time to stop playing Dzeko 90 minutes every game, as he looks finished after 15 minutes. Its also not rocket science to start the hottest attacker you have in Sanchez, when all the other ones are shit.

I like to call his priority on Lautaro over Sanchez as stubborness. Sanchez in the starting line up will give instant and immense effect on fluidity upfront. Another is dumfries, he is a spoiled flankers in our teamplay, uncomparable with Perisic. Inzaghi should put darmian over there.

Would like to see we play 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 or just don’t use Dzeko and Lautaro together anymore. It is simply not clicking for me. Only they overlap, they don’t cover other weakness well.

lucky he had Sheriff in the group and much weaker Shakhtar with fucking De Zerbi managing them, otherwise wouldn't have seen the playoffs. Showed nothing against big clubs and ruined whole defensive system which had been built by Conte. Not only defense but also players lost their capabilities and are mentally weak. He is just a "Spallo V2" but with hairs.

Getting a bit tired of the 70th minute Lautaro change and always keeping Dzeko in.

Nothing new last night. Good football, against a team which is clearly far better than us. Our strikers suck. Our play is generally good, great patterns in midfield. What sucks is our lack of pace of and penetration on counters.

But the worst aspect is the conceding of a goal around 75th minute, something we have seen time and again, whenever we face a high quality opponent. Be it Real, Juve, or even someone like Lazio.

When we face a dogged defence in a Cagliari or someone, we keep trying and trying and more often than not, we get a goal somewhere. The same happens in reverse when we face Juve, Liverpool, or Real. Two reasons this happens are

1. Mental strength - against some teams, we are the mentally stronger one and keep going. But it's clear that some of these clubs are mentally stronger than us. That's the mentality that we need to build, and miss dearly. You would think that a defending champion should have it. I think we need some more big game wins and another title to have it.

2. Squad depth - no matter how strong you are mentally, your body has to be up for it. Inzaghi's style is very demanding. While athleticism of players could be an issue, in our case it is more on the lack of depth. The players will tire out when pressed as much as Liverpool did. And it's a shame that the only change we can make is Sanches for Lautaro.

The management has to work on 2nd point, and Inzaghi on 1st. Till then, we will be 2nd favourites when it comes to such matches.

Here is the hierarchy in Europe today.
A - Elite level
Mancity and Liverpool. PSG would just make it there cos of the quality of players, but are unpredictable cos of the coach. Bayern as well belong here today, irrespective of current form.

B - Top tier
Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Dortmund (the latter two are not really there, but I'm putting them here since they would go in as favourites against any club from the next tier)

C - Good-not-great tier
Manu (purely for quality of their squad), Inter, Juventus, Atletico

We need two midfielders for depth, and a world class forward to move to Tier B.

I really didn't like that play from the back thing. Liverpool's high pressing made it seem like we were always about to fuck up. Him playing Perisic on the left was a risky move with Salah also there, but it was the right one.

My only issue with Inzaghi is the team lacks balls. I didn't see a confident team out there.

Make no mistake. That type of mentality sips in the league as well. Forget Liverpool, now I'm massively worried about the league.
