The way we play reminds me a bit of City in their first year under Guardiola. They played great football and were fun to watch but they came in 3rd and got knocked out in the round of 16. Pep didn’t quite have the right players to suit his philosophy, he was still working remnants of the Mancini & Pellegrini squads. They were fragile on the counter attack and they struggled in a lot of the big matches. The big difference here is Pep was able to go out the following summer and add Ederson, Laporte, Mendy, B. Silva, Walker, and Danilo in one window. In one fucking window.

I give Inzaghi his credit, I think that he’s doing pretty well with what he’s got. He’s got us playing the modern football everyone has been craving despite what a few might say. The issue for us is we can’t throw money at our problems so we are going to have to be smart and patient. I hope we build a real project with Inzaghi over 4-5 years. I’m excited to think of what he can do if we spend a couple summers improving the team instead of dismantling it.

A lot of weird nitpicking and random hating going on in here. IMO inzaghi did an immense job given what he had to work with. Difference between us and one of Europe's elite was marginal.

90% of our issues can be quickly solved with quality depth, even the early subbing. All we need is 2 solid Mercatos and we're straight.

He did do an immense job but the timing of his subs is continuing to be a problem. I know subs are like the lowest hanging fruit when it comes to talking shit about a manager but its becoming a real handicap for him. And it's that much more puzzling why he does what he does when he is clearly a very impatient person judging by his touchline antics. Darmian should've been subbed in 20 minutes earlier.

I understand that he is more of a men-management type of guy, he keeps rules relaxed and clearly plays the card of being among his players but I really think he needs to introduce some tough love, fast. I'm all for exercising patience when a player is in poor form and all but sometimes you need to let the hammer down for the greater good, and make certain players really sweat for minutes.

All we need is 2 solid Mercatos money and we're straight.
fixed that for you

My only issue with Inzaghi is the team seems to have mental lapses once they concede. We totally lose our heads on occasions things don't go our way. It happened against Lazio, Milan, SuperCoppa (between Juve goal and our penalty) and it happened again last night after Liverpool first goal.

He needs to work on that with the team.

he didn't do an immense job. He is just enjoying the fruits of the work done by Conte. Also, we won't be able to sign quality players with him because no quality player will want to join a club managed by a mediocre coach. Vlahovic, who many of you think a quality player, probably made his choice based on that evaluation.

I really didn't like that play from the back thing. Liverpool's high pressing made it seem like we were always about to fuck up. Him playing Perisic on the left was a risky move with Salah also there, but it was the right one.

My only issue with Inzaghi is the team lacks balls. I didn't see a confident team out there.

Make no mistake. That type of mentality sips in the league as well. Forget Liverpool, now I'm massively worried about the league.
I think this playing from the back was just to keep the possession as long as possible. So that we don't have to chase the ball 70% of the game. That way we set the tempo of the game, and deny Liverpool doing it. Side effect was of course this that we had troubles to actually get the game going from the back because Liverpool pressed so well. But that press didn't last to the second half and we RAN the game there. Too bad we couldn't score but we kept the clean sheet in the first 45 minutes which was probably very important milestone set by Inzaghi.

Yeah he was not at fault at all yday. Nothing he could do. Inzaghi will be judged on whether he wins the league or not. I like him but he’s no Conte that’s for sure

Time and again we dominate 70 minutes and fall apart. Inzaghi, is this team suited to playing that style? That would be my only criticism so far for him.

Wtf are you writing, Cunte had Lukaku, Hakimi and Eriksen and couldnt progress in two seasons in last 16,lost with his best eleven at home against Barca B, the same Barca that was with their best team demolished by Bayern 8:2. Fuck Conte. Inzaghi is doing great job considering he has 36 year old has been attacker Dzeko, third tier Hakimi(Dumfries), no depth at all, club is broke and have no money and so on and on..He played yesterday without fkn Barella and still team looked much better than Cuntes team that had better roster and couldnt do shite in Europe and was fucked by rube every fkn match except that 2-0 win. Mediocre coach my ass, Cunte with this roster would never progress in last 16 of CL, wouldnt be even scudetto contender, thats why he run away. Fuck that piece of shit. Look how he improved Tottenham defence, look what Wolves, Southampton and similiar shites are doing to Tottenham. And they say Mou is has been lol. Cunte will give you results if you spend fkn 500mill on reinforcement. Yep, what a great coach he is. My ass. Give Inzaghi players that Cunte had we would beat fkn Liverpool, we were yesterday al pari with them, with fkn Dzeko, Vidal and that fraud Loltaro. Fruits my ass..

Don't have one.
I really didn't like that play from the back thing.
It's working in seria a though, where our quality is too much for most of the teams. However, if we ever want to do something serious in cl, unless our quality drastically improves, and I don't see that happening with our current owners, our best bet is catenaccio sprinkled with counterattacks.

With our current approach of free flowing football and current quality level not just the bench but starters as well we are nice looking cannon fodder for teams like liverpool, real, psg etc... And also obligatory headline news from media saying how brave we were and how our approach is so positive and pleasant on the eyes.

Maybe it would be better to take a more defensive approach in the first half and go all out in the second half? At least for the big matches, we have nobody on the bench except Darmian and Sanchez, so we really need our first team to be the ones to do something.

It dosent matter what the approach we will take and when, the fact is that we have garbage front who cant do shit at almost every situation, its like we have bunch of moron players that always get the worst desion they could have when we on our attacking play, that part is not about inzaghi, its like the players turn off their brain when we get into the opp team box....

Yeah, but if we lose steam most big games after 70 minutes, maybe a different approach is needed. Current squad is gassed all the time and the bench barely has quality players.

So what can he change? Maybe start with trash players and in 70 minutes when we are already losing 3 0 bring Hakan, Brozo or Bastoni? Our depth is shit. We need reinforcements, we need rich sugar daddy, not poor communist beggars. That aproach is needed🤨

I dont think that a bit more energy in late game will make our players better, lautaro and dzeko will keep to be 2 usless snails and all others will keep take bad after bad decision every time we attacking, in my opinion our players problem is more on mental side...

Don't go full press, high energy football. Play more Conservative, slower and turn it up when we need to. Our record in big games this season shows that something isn't working. As you point out, we don't have the bench players to sustain it.

Were even getting memed on now and it's accurate lol we play brilliant for 70 minutes then die

If Mourinho was our coach, he'd tell our players that they don't have the balls to play against the top teams, just like he told his useless Roma crew. I assume a lot of you would agree with that.
