I still can't get my head around him starting Vecino in Brozovic's position. Of all of our midfielders, he is the least equipped to carry out that role. We couldn't control the game because of it.

We really do need some alternative tactics for when key players are missing. The midfield depth sucks but we need to get creative.

Why not try a 442 or something? Push the wingers even further up, whatever. I can't believe Vecino even gets minutes at this point.

The more I think about yesterday’s game the more angry I become. This guy really rotates like we’re fucking Man City. His belief in some players in this squad is so unexplainable it makes me question my belief in him.

Player has a knock = not in the squad (all reports were Brozo was fit)
Player gets a yellow = subbed almost immediately
Oh you didn’t get a chance to play last game? = 90 guaranteed regardless of performance.

What in the patty cake, Kumbaya, kindergarten bullshit is this? Is this a team full of professional men or an intramural pick up squad? Play the best fucking XI every game from here until the end of the season, it’s that simple.

Renew my ass. When you start Vecino for Inter in 2022 then you have no fkn clue what to do with this team. Sorry but it is what it is.

Hopefully you guys now see gung-ho football is entertaining but can't survive in Serie A. Gasperini's Atalanta runs out of gas. Inzaghi's Inter (and Lazio) runs out of gas. Only Allegri's and Pioli's just-enough wins would sustain long enough till the end and claim the title.

Winning 5-0 was nice but you were wasting at least 3 goals for NOTHING. Just sit deep and counter. Save that extra gas for the long run. Maximize the efficiency.

And please don't ever compare Conte with Inzaghi again. Conte's football, no matter how "boring" it is, was proven to win Scudetto while Gasperini's and Inzaghi's were not. Those two might have slightly better track record in CL because CL-format is short run; but league is a different story.
The reality is that we play now like we did under Cunte but instead Lukaku,Hakimi,Eriksen and Brozo(tonight) we play with Dzeko,Darmian and Vecino and thats why we are falling apart. So imagine how Cunte will do with this roster this season, just imagine that. There will be no competing for scudetto. From a start of season. That guy cant win shit without spending 500 mill budget for his favorite players. Plus his football is utter crap.We started to play something like that this year and guess what,we cant do shit. I agree that Inzaghi is idiot cause he fielded Vecino but this team has no proper replacement in any position in team except attack(and we know how our attack is shit lol) and of course you gonna fight for top 4 spot and you can forget scudetto.

What I don't understand. De vrij gets a knock against Liverpool, dambro comes on and pockets mane, skriniar gets man of the match on the middle.

So Sunday night comes, why doesn't dambro play again? Why did it need to be frog?

Yea, after that match against Liverpool Limone disappointed me so much when I saw that starting eleven against Torino . That was so amateurish that I decided not to watch fkn game, thats how bad it was. Everyone saw that except fkn Limone. He fucked up again.

I'm afraid this is the right analysis, and more and more things are pointing to it. You really have to have great depth for this shit to work all season long.

It is however a great way to build teams with average budgets like fiorentina, atalanta, lazio to potential cl place and that's about it. You really need more variety if you want to win scudetto, more sustainable football, even if it's not beautiful on the eyes.

The question on every Inter fan's mind right now - is this the beginning of another banter era?

Not in my mind. Not every fan goes into panic mode after a disappointing match/period. With few additions and getting rid of high wagers like Vidal we can still compete for the Scudetto next season.

We are still in the Scudetto fight. Banter era was not about that. During banter era we were not in the Scudetto fight after November. With Spalletti we got out of Scudetto race after Chrismas/January usually and I don't see Spalletti era a part of banter era.

Now it's March and we are still there. Beginning of another banter era needs much more than what we're witnessing now.

I am afraid it's what @thatdude said. Inzaghi cares more about keeping everyone happy in the dressing room than what's best for the team. D'Ambrosio played against Liverpool so now it was time for Ranocchia to play. Dumfries had started against Genoa, Salernitana and Liverpool so he needed to get benched. In the previous times one of our starting midfielders was missing Inzaghi had started Gagliardini (Sassuolo) and Vidal (both matches against Liverpool) so it was time for Vecino to start. Dzeko didn't play against Liverpool so he had to start.

If thats the case then our coach is not quite the brightest fella.

Questions to Inzagi:
1. Why are you ignoring Contes system to start our attack from back three when they are the same and can do it?
2. Why we try to play long balls directly from Samir to Dzeko when he can barely win anything? And if he wins, only just touches the ball with his head and sends it to random directions.
3. Why do you trust Vecino if you trust Vidal in the big game like Liverpool's?
4. Why do you trust Rano instead of Dambrosio when you saw how he played vs Loverpool?
5. Why you don't sub Dzeko after 45 when you see that he can barely walk?
6. Why are you so keen on Dzeko and ask him to be a Lukaku when you clearly see that he is not able to do not even one Lukaku thing.

I think he doesn't have the answers and that is the wors part.

He completely got it wrong yesterday, no question.

Still you have to feel for him when you’re watching dzeko and Lautaro and co completely whiff what look like sure goals. Guy looks like he’s about to faint.

Very hasty decision. Whenever we have rushed to extend a coach contract we have always regretted it.

What a coward. I get he was unlucky with injuries and with Sanchez stupidity but he was scared to take a risk even in the last 10 minutes. It's plain ridiculous we just needed one more goal to take it to extra time and we finished the match with Correa as a lone forward, both Vecino and Gagliardini in midfield while he kept Dzeko and Gosens on the bench for the entire game. Inzaghi prefered getting a respectable elimination instead of going all in. Losing mentality.

We missed a golden chance.
+1
Chances were slim, but he cared more about the image than who actually qualifies. That smells a la Lucky Luciano`s loser mentality, being content with less.
I was expecting to see Gosens and even saw him prepared to come in, instead he chose to throw in the towel with useless Vecino and Gagliardinho.

I would have swallowed it if it resulted in a victory against Torino. Unfortunately this DID NOT happen.

Imagine last season beating Liverpool? No fkn way.
Imagine Liverpool playing at 90%... they hit the bar 3 times while preserving their energy levels. Their qualification never felt at menace. So Inzaghi got lucky with the win, but showed coward attitute. This is why I would not jump to offer him an extension right now.

Now the draw against Torino further casts us away from Scudetto:
The Nerazzurri are no longer table leaders as, even by winning their game in hand against Bologna, they would remain one point behind their city rivals Milan. The Nerazzurri had won the last six games of 2021, scoring 17 goals conceding none.

Their trend has overturned in the new year where they have earned just 13 points in nine games. Juventus have collected 22 (the best in Serie A), one more than Napoli and Milan.

The Nerazzurri paid a high price for their striker’s goal drought in 2022 with Lautaro Martinez scoring his first four goals of the year last week. Edin Dzeko has had a similar record since January, with four goals in nine Serie A appearances.

Their defensive solidity is also under question as the Nerazzurri kept just three clean sheets in 2022, conceding eight goals in the process. They had conceded 15 in the opening 19 games of the campaign. Inter won the Supercoppa against Juventus in January, but were also eliminated by Liverpool in the Champions League Round of 16.

The defending Serie A champions tend to struggle when playing without Marcelo Brozovic and earned just one point in the two games played without their playmaker. La Gazzetta dello Sport highlighted Inter’s issues to cope without the Croatia international

Surely he does not have the same quality as Conte last year, but the team`s overall attitude is not the same. Also starting Vecino is raising serious questions about his ability to judge on the players` capabilities.

He even can't use what he has. He has the same defenders but for some reason decided to play directly from Samir to Dzeko, he sees it has been useless so far but keeps doing.

Also I doubt that he has a full control in dressing room,. Yesterday our players were out of control, they received 3 useless yellow cards after 80, Conte would have killed them for this but not Inzagi.

Many people say that he doesn't have the same squad. Ok that is true, but did we have different squad in the first half of the season? Why inter was so good there?
Because there was still Conte's drive. After some time it started to fade away and here is the result.
Who trained a lot in the gym or other place will understand this, when you are in a perfect shape and you will decrease the loads and discipline you continue with the same success and sometimes do even better, but after a certain time you start to loose everything you had and there is no shortcut to return, you have to start all over again.
