Say whatever you want, this guy so far has ticked all the boxes in terms of expectations and even spoiled us for a chance of another Scudetto.

Now let's clinch the scudetto, Simone!

Time for new era, enough with Lautaro - Dzeko partnership 🤣

I mostly blame him for the way he has managed forwards. It isn't entirely his fault as Correa was out for a long time but he has overused Dzeko and insisted on the dysfunctional partnership of Dzeko-Lautaro. Hopefully he has finally realized Dzeko and Lautaro can't play together.

He got lucky with the offside goal. It was very clear we needed a few subs right before that as we were really struggling. Once the offside was made he immediately made two.

Other than that, got everything right. Bravo limone. Now please beat Roma

Hope he finally understands that fkn Dzeko Lautaro duo dont work.
I'm hoping this is the case.

Before the derby I criticized how Inzaghi repeatedly played these ineffective CF + CF and SS + SS duos instead of the logical (and far more effective) CF + SS combo.

The CF + CF combo leaves us without any creativity, speed, technique or fluidity. Meanwhile the SS + SS combo, often seen in the second halves of games, leaves us with two poor finishers, physically lightweight, no aerial threat, and without a reference point of attack.

However, this was the third game in a row where Inzaghi started a CF (Dzeko or Lautaro) alongside a SS (Sanchez or Correa). Moreover, with the exception of the weird Perisic move against Verona, Inzaghi has kept the CF + SS combo with his subs.

Has he realised that we play much better when we pair up a "creator" alongside a "finisher"? Could this be a sign that Inzaghi has finally learned? I really hope so and I hope this continues.

I was just going to type and comment on that last quote.

I think it is important and says alot about him in the sense that he listens and tries to address and respond to constructive criticism.

In the past, we have had coaches that have been too proud to even acknowledge there is a problem letalone openly admit that they have listened to the criticism and tried to work on the areas of weakness.

This is how he should use his old men off the bench, all 4 (obviously not counting Gosens, who is younger than Perišić) did very good to help hold the result and hold the ball

Yeah exactly. I remember back in autumn against Sassuolo away, we were down 1-0. He brought in Dzeko and Vidal and it changed the game. I feel Dzeko should be used sparingly as a starter, only when it really fits to a specific game. Otherwise just use him as a sub for Lautaro.

You're right but what would you have Inzaghi do? He needs goals to win games. However ugly they all count. It's really that simple.

Pair Lautaro with Sanchez when Correa isn't available and bring Dzeko from the bench. Dzeko doesn't have more than 40 quality minutes and he usually plays over 70 per match. Lautaro has two more goals than Dzeko with 400 mins less on the pitch.

Yo, last time Sanchez hit double digits (in all comps) was 4/5 years ago, he lacks consistency and is injury prone. he belongs strictly on the bench. Dzeko's game is not aesthetically pleasing but he's producing. ultimately that's all that matters.

What's the point of this? Dzeko is benching Sanchez and Korea, not Lautoro.

Sanchez and Korea are injury prone and inconsistent and don't score. By the way Dzeko has more goals than Milan and Juve's top goal scorers (vlahovic excluded). It's not pretty but Dzeko is delivering, to a point. Again, it's that simple.

When was the last time Sanchez was a consistent starter? Certainly before joining Inter. You can't expect him to hit double digit numbers when he plays 30 minutes per match.

The point is Dzeko doesn't score enough for the amount of playing time he gets, so no. He isn't delivering.

I think he again was late with subsitutions and we could have pay gone to extra time if the the goal wasnt disallowed
Why wait until 73 to change Canhanoglu he was crap in second half, we needed vidal asap
And why introduce Dzeko fuk him with his dzeko fetish.
Also sanchez should have been introduced early 60min max with Correa.
Also Perisic should have been off and save him for Roma
And let Lautaro finish the game for god sake.
All in one
VIDAL >CALHANOGLU 60min
Gosens > perisic 60min
Sanchez>Correa 65min
