I'm sorry but a CL path of Porto, Benfica, Milan is not enough to make up for losing to fodder teams.

Either he wins the CL or he should leave. In other words, no CL next season = no job.
Agreed, BUT we made it out of the group with bayern and barcelona. Porto topped the group with Atletico and Leverkusen. Benfica topped the group with PSG and Juventus and most people here thought we were going to get knocked out by them. Milan thrashed Napoli who was thrashing everyone and their mother. It will be a massive thank you to him if we go into the final, win or loose, I don't want him next season either if we fail to reach champions league spot, in fact if we don't compete for the scudetto, but credit when is due eh

When we prepare for teams like we did for Benfica (or Juve), we might make them look like bad teams, but they are far from that - and that is where I give Inzaghi props. Yes, losing against the worst teams of Serie A is horrible and we still fall mentally too many times for my liking, but every season has it's up and downs.

To still be in contention for CL, Coppa and a top4 finish with this raggedy patch of players is kinda cool. I'm mad about some results and I will remain mad, but I'll only really review the season when it ends.

The league is the real indicator of your capabilities as a coach. You can get lucky all you want in a few cup games, but that doesn't cover being 6th in the league. So no, if Inzaghi ends up below top 4 (which seems he will) then needs to go even if he wins the two cups (yes, even the CL).

He has all the rightful and fair execuses in the world not to compete for Serie A's title, but finishing around 6th is just too much.

I'm wondering, will he stay if we get the Coppa, reach the final in CL, and finish 5th? Considering his luck in the tournaments, we have a big chance to win LE.

Someone alert PSG about this guy.

Omg that would be awesome if they paid us to take him off our hands :)

PSG hasn't gotten to a Champions league final.... so would be a huge upgrade

Don't have one.
I mean it’s always the same story. We get a couple of good results and people pull a U-turn. He’s a man excellent cup manager I’ll give him that but he wouldn’t win the French league with PSG.

11 league losses lol, come on people
Yeah, he just isn't capable of bottling that same energy in the cup competitions and releasing it or recreating it in the league, trough 38 games. In fact, judging by his lazio days, I think he has a fatal flaw where what makes him great in cups is exactly why he sucks in the league and vice versa.

Unless we win the champions league, no. We can't operate as a club without 4th. If we fail to reach champions league our squad will only get weaker next season and no way he makes it with an even weaker team than this.

We have 1 billionth of the budget. They dropped 500m on 2 players and still blow 3 or 4 goal leads.

Saying that winning Coppa, reaching semifinal of CL and again reaching final of Coppa was luck is the same shit as saying that we are 6th cause we were unlucky. If he reaches final of CL and reach 4th spot he deserves to stay. Achieving final of CL with this roster is bigger achievement than winning that scudetto in 2021 Covid season with much superior squad. If he fails to reach final of CL he better fuck off as soon as possible.

Ideal coach for Suning.

"Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has brought the total earnings in prize money that he’s brought in over the past two seasons to over €200 million with progression to the final of the Coppa Italia.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who note that the coach has reached the landmark figure after beating Juventus on Wednesday, and that this has taken him miles clear of Antonio Conte in this regard.

Inter will take in €3 million just for reaching the Coppa Italia final against Fiorentina, whilst they will earn €4.5 million if they beat La Viola to win the trophy, and €2 million if they are to be on the losing end.

Then, the Nerazzurri are set to earn 45% of the gate receipt for the Stadio Olimpico for the final of the competition, which is expected to be around €2 million.

On top of this, participation in the final of the cup brings with it guaranteed participation in next season’s Supercoppa Italiana, a four-team edition of the competition, which could bring with it earnings of as much as €7 million if the Nerazzurri are to win it as they have done in the past two seasons.

None of these earnings are to be scoffed at, although the real big money that Inzaghi has brought in in terms of prize money has come from Europe.

This season alone, the coach has brought in €93 million and counting, before gate receipts from the San Siro are taken into consideration, and could make it even more if the team are to reach the Champions League final by beating AC Milan over two legs.

To underscore the significance of this, Tuttosport note that in the 2020-21 season under Antonio Conte, Inter’s earnings from the Champions League totalled just €37.8 million.

The newspaper also suggest that even the unexpectedly weak league performances by the team under Inzaghi could be mitigated somewhat financially.

Last season’s second placed finish still brought with it €26.6 million in earnings.

Meanwhile, the dreaded scenario of failing to qualify for the Champions League next season could be softened if the Nerazzurri were to make a deep run and even win the Europa League, something which could hardly be precluded given Inzaghi’s knack for cup competitions."
