I won’t roast him for the starting eleven as the game could have gone in a very different direction early if Correa wasn’t offside with his shoulder which is unlucky and if Acerbi didn’t slip. But his in game management was top notch today.

Totally spot on subs bringing in Dumfries for more physicality up front, Lautaro for obvious reasons and the best decision by far - Gosens for Bastoni. It was only the right thing to go with two offensive exteriors to make us even more unpredictable. Big kudos for seeing this through and I actually am very optimistic entering the last stages of the season.

Very poor starting lineup. He must have forgotten his medicines when he picked Dambro and Correa while shifted Darmian to RWB. Although we dominate the game, we really lack the final blow because correa is a moron. Luckily Inzaghi is sober at the halftime and manages the game superbly afterward. We completely dominate nazio and now we have the right players to put them to sword.

We’re hitting form at the perfect time because the month of May has probably the toughest schedule of matches I can recall. Roma, Milan, Milan, Napoli, Atalanta are basically all finals and there’s an actual final against Fiorentina.

We have to keep rotating and unfortunately the team lacks the depth to be quality every time we do.

this will probably be the longest season in club history in terms of games played, due to the World Cup being in between.

Our players must be exhausted but Inzhagi has them looking hungry and motivated at a time when even Mourinho faced a challenge at keeping focus.

kudos to him. If there’s one thing I learned growing up, is that an Inzhagi will deliver in a Champions League Final all the while making you wonder how the fuck they even got there.

If his bench was better, we wouldn't have so many problems. Usually when we have starters on the bench and they come on, we play better, but when it's starters coming off for bench players, we look horrible.

Say what you want about Inzaghi, but the last 4 games (Benfica, JuBe, Empoli, Lazio) I've started to see more bite from this Inter team.
With all the pressure and question marks surrounding his ability to coach, I find it quite impressive how he is helping things around.

As much as this is impressive, I saw the same with Spalletti, we had a huge drop in form and then performed at the end like we know how we can. It's a shame that a drop like that even happened. If only we had more draws instead of losses, we'd be comfortable in CL spots, now we have to be perfect until the end.

I wouldnt say 'definitely' - we need a post-season retrospective to understand why we finished 4th (hopefully) in a season we really should have finished 2nd and been at least in the ballpark for the title if not competing to the end. Also, we need to understand what Inzaghi thinks we need to do to improve the squad to compete for the league next season, what his plans are for the squad (Eg which players leave, etc) and then decide if we think his vision is reasonable or, for example, if it involves bringing in a wghole bunch of deadwood from Lazio and suddenly they're world class players like Correa and Acerbi (cough)

The scale of our fuck up in the league is such that only a CL WIN would mean we "definitely" keep Inzaghi

Sure, but kind of my point is what do we think he can actually achieve going forwards. This is a squad that is quite probably going to be weaker next season on average, there may only be a key tactical investment or two. If we sign a good CB, will Inzaghi actually be capable of using them well? Nothing I've seen so far suggests he knows how to organise a defense properly, so that would potentially be a trigger for a new coach.

Cups - especially the CL - are so luck dependent. Keeping someone on the basis of, lets be honeset, one of the most lop-sided CL draws in recent history is not a reason to keep a coach. IF we proceed vs Milan, and IF we manage to win it, then we can talk, but knocking out Porto, Benfica, and hopefully Milan, isnt exactly a "hard" run to the CL semis/finals - in a different universe we'd have pulled someone like PSG or City in R16, and then suddenly the cup expert doesnt look so expert tbh?

It isn't just this season where we should have easily finished second instead of fighting for the last spot till the end. It's also the previous one where we choked against Milan and lost a title we should have won.

In both seasons under Inzaghi we have underperformed in the league. And it's become evident this season the guy has no way to get a team out of a slump. He doesn't make any adjustments to his game in order to grind results when players are in bad form. Instead he just waits for the players to find form again. And it was the same at Lazio. It's the cups that have saved him and at a point you have to wonder if the cup progression is worth the underperforming in the league.
