You cant tell me that a 4. place team has only luck and a great Goal keeper. De Boer is clearly the proof that a Coach can be much worser. Im not saying Mancini was good but at last our Team (specialy the first months) looked motivated. Then things tourned out bad for Mancini but also players like Murillo got worse.

But didn't Mancini take over from Mazzari and do much worse that very season? Mazzari was in 5th place I believe, and Mancini took over and we ended up 8th that season, below Sampdoria and Genoa. And that was Mancini who was familiar with Serie A. I'm not saying De Boer is great but it seems you're ignoring Mancini's first 20+ games in charge of Inter, while judging De Boer who's played less than that and had a team that didn't go through proper physical preparations.

I'm not saying Inter had just luck, as we were pretty efficient in front of goal in the first half of that season (pretty much had one shot on target every game resulting in a goal). But the biggest reason we ended 4th were the results in the first half of the season which were largely based on luck.

It's similar to Man U from a number of seasons ago that had De Gea saving them every game.

No doubt, true. But you also have to consider that De Boer has much more players while Mancini had to deal with players like Kuzmanovic Rannochia Andreolli Campagnaro.. also dont forget, all players we had (like Campagnaro for example) are players made for the 3-5-2 tactic. Mancini had only the winter mercato to get some players for his 4231 what is very diffrent to the 352 tactic from Mazzarri. De Boer plays 433 so its not a problem for him.

Immagine if we had this team with Mancini 1 year ago.. we would win every game 0-2 or 1-2. (remember Sassuolo game, Carpi, Empoli away.. all ended very cloose 1-0 1-1 or 0-1) Maybe Inter would be CL and MAYBE it wouldnt end like this August with Mancini being angry..

Come on, winning every game with Mancini? People were saying the same last year... that with players like Ljajic, Jovetic, Icardi, Perisic, we would be scoring more goals but Mancini's tactic didn't allow it.

I'll give you the Sassuolo game, but Empoli is a perfect example of us getting dominated by a small team and having one shot on target resulting in a goal. Not to mention we defended against Carpi, who were playing in Serie A for the first time ever. That was my main issue with Mancini, that he was happy to defend against garbage teams.

Mancini also got some players that he wanted, but then decided against them. Shaqiri was bought in that same season to fit Mancini's tactic, but then was sold 6 months later. Jovetic was also someone Mancini liked, and then stopped being played. Mancini is the one that wanted Medel-Melo, pretty much replacing Kovacic for Melo and we had to give the guy a huge salary too.

De Boer might have more players but the team is used to playing Mancini's tactic and are now asked to do something totally different. But this goes on the management, not Mancini. We constantly higher coaches who look for different things and end up with a team they don't want. Look at a team like Barcelona who have a specific philosophy from their youth teams up to the senior level. Obviously Barca aren't the best example since they are light years ahead, but Inter does the total opposite and wonder why every coach sucks.

Im sorry man, but youre actually exactly describing Mancini's "tactics" of the first half of that season. I mean, we had one random shot on goal, or a Melo header from a corner and scored. While defending with 11 man, and Handa doing some borderline Spiderman stuff for us..

Eventhough it was awesome being nr 1 up until around xmas, it didnt take a genius to see that it was a matter of time until we would crumble. There were no tactics other than "dont concede and score one with luck"

Though I do agree that of course in that sense, defense wise we were better than now. But thats also not really a surprise looking at how defending Mancini would field his players, and of course de Boer playing almost the exact opposite.

We also get dominated now with much better players in the forward. And still its a miracle we score a goal.

Youre sayying this like we sold Kovacic for Melo without saying that we got Kondogbia.

De Boer dont needs more players, he has enough for his shitty tactical ideas from Ajax.

why you guys are in panic mode

its all natural that we are losing some games

it was the first time we played with brozo mario and banega in midfield in an away game

its obvious now those three should play at home matches

and change medel with brozo or an injured one from the other two for the away matches and for bigger matches

come on don't lose hope on FDB there are many variables and still little time to allocate them

if i was in a managment i will definitly take this point and i will be still RELAXED and ofcurse not sack him is doing good he need to know the exact players that suit each game

FDB is doing good regardless his first ever season in serie A managing big players

chill guys

Probably we'll lose 0-2, 0-1, or 1-2. The last time I said this, we won 2-1. So yeah.

There's nothing more interesting to me than a football fan's ability to predict something in the hope that their own prediction will change the outcome of the match in their favor

I'm not even saying anything against it, I'm just genuinely intrigued by the psychology of it

The proverbial straw, to which one clutches in times like these.
It's obvious good results won't come from the team at this point, so a bit of voodoo won't hurt. :yao:

But now you acknowledged it, which means we'll probably lose 0-2, 0-1 or 1-2.

Vintage Catenaccio.
Saints hitting post after post and Pinamonti to come on and score the winning goal with a massive deflection.
Coach Vecchi clapping the away end and Inter moving on in the NextGen Series. (?)

Presumably we'll thrash them 6-0 playing some champagne football, there'll be murmurs of 'scudetto' whispered here and there and then we'll follow it up with a 0-1 loss at home to Crotone with a missed Icardi penalty being our only shot in 90 minutes.

Poor Vecchi will have a tough match to begin. Not mention his Primavera have just got defeated 4-0 from Roma in the Supercoppa.
