China's Dalian Wanda sells 17 pct stake in Spain's Atletico Madrid

Dalian Wanda Group has sold a 17 percent stake in Atletico Madrid, the Spanish soccer club said on Wednesday, the latest step in the Chinese conglomerate’s strategy to reduce debt.

Wanda sold the stake to Quantum Pacific Group, after buying a 20 percent stake in Atletico in 2015 for 45 million euros ($56 million), when it became the first mainland Chinese company to invest in a premier European club.

The sale adds to deals worth about $16 billion that Wanda has announced since last year. In January, Wanda said its commercial property arm reached a deal to get a $5.4 billion investment from a group led by tech giant Tencent Holdings

You feel like worlds best freekick taker should be able to score a penalty.

yeah, this year he has 3 missed and he scored from 3

which is a lot worse compared to 2016/17 where he scored 9 and missed 1

Atleti were a disaster yesterday, surprised how they didn't concede more goals though

What?

I'll admit Atleti's midfield was pretty weak, during the game, but I think that was mostly because Saul wasn't really taking advantage of the space that Barca gave him, and not to mention his failure to get loose balls.

I think a big issue, was their use of the "high press" instead of the usual fan-out/frequent back passes to decongest the midfield. Judging by the amount of mistakes made by Barca, it was clear that Atleti made Barca more jittery, because of it. They just didn't do much to take advantage of all the opportunities. Reliance on back passing is kind of our forte, but a counter-press isn't going to work when you're dealing with some of the best forwards in history. But the fact that Barca had less than 1/3 of their shots on target, shows that there was obviously something being done right, to a degree.

Also this was probably Coutinho's worst performance since joining Barca which is another indication that Atletico were doing a good part, especially when it mean't cutting out the Barca attack.

What? I thought Coutinho was doing good and when Iniesta got injured and Coutinho went on to the midfield position he did even better.

I can't say I agree. He had very little presence, and though he did have some nice touches, he made mistakes that could've be considered crucial if Atletico had gotten a goal.

Anyone watches Messi's goal ? His left foot is as accurate as heat seeking missile. And what a presence he has. Bilbao defensive unit were doing their defensive routine, but at the moment they realized Messi was unmarked, they immediately shitted their pants and desperately ran at him.

Ronaldo is back and he is scoring for fun again. 37 goals already this season and he was so bad for about half a season.

Ronaldo
In the beginning of the season, Cristiano's finishing was off and unlucky at times, but he still got into good goalscoring positions. That skill he has is still unmatched in the world of football right now. There were talks among the football stats people that he was due an explosion soon as his actual goal was so much below his expected goal number. Turns out the prediction is correct. I don't think he will slow down anytime soon unless he suffers a career-threatening injury somehow.

Was at the game live, Coutinho was always running into space offering options for passes (more than anyone else) , and he was just a constant thorn in the attack hitting the post 1-2 times, and..

His link up with Messi was also a joy to watch.

Pretty much MOTM performance actually.
