Real Madrid was tormented in the final minutes by Levante, barely won 3-2 with Courtois stopping an injury time chance to make it 3-3.

Been tormented myself with toothache for over a month so now it's easier to just sit at home and watch 3 games at the same time  Gladly the pain is gone now as my latest operation was earlier this week but don't need to inform anyone about it :)

I remember when I worked in the clinics as a courier, I watched games the whole day. And yeah, when you have time, what else are you gonna do?

Especially Bundesliga is fun to watch, me being in Slovenia I got ALL the german/austrian channels

Yeap, Bundesliga is the most enjoyable league. Has been since the turn of the millenium for me. Good level of football, great atmosphere, unpredictability has been part of it but not lately of course with Bayern dominating everything, but for the majority of the league this still stands. And you can feel that it's still German.

I find the German and Italian small teams the most cultured out there from the big leagues. You can find a crazy following from top tier to 5th tier. In Spain for example that's too hard to find, the small clubs don't have much passion around them but there are several respectable middle tier clubs (eg Sociedad playing now vs Atleti, Betis, Deportivo, Celta, Osasuna etc). England and France are also behind in this respect. For me that's a big killer. Italy and Spain also feel quite domestic even to this day (Spain more than Italy), but not as much as Germany does.

What's wrong with this week.
Some big clubs failed to take their 3 points.

Poor Valencia, losing 2-0 from early on, miss a couple of one on ones and now score a legit goal that gets disallowed....

Thank VAR, goal stands. 2-1, game on.

Maybe Fekir doesn't have the mentality to succeed in a big team, like what happened to Quaresma for example, but man, the way he is playing with Betis is amazing, he looks like 1000 levels above any of his teammates.

I don't follow French football closely but this was one of the more surprising transfers for me. One-club man and captain of his hometown team who almost moved to Liverpool and was linked with the usual suspects a year ago, and then a move to a mid-table side. Maybe it was the injury(injuries?).

Yup. That's why Liverpool backed off, he failed the medicals, and apparently the doctors said he has chronic knee pain and injuries. Hence no other big team bid for him, for a year, and his price dropped.

I read an interview of Fekir couple of months ago tho, he said that Pool doctors were lying about his injury and that it was something about his family that they backed off, and that his knee was good. Who knows what's the real story.

i heard someone said that if a club signed fekir they had to sign his brother also. didn't donnarumma pull some shit like that too? that may work for shit teams but if he wants to go to a big club, probably won't fly. I don't think he will be at betis that long.

Barca don't look so invincible these days. After barely hanging on for a draw against Dortmund, they lost yesterday to Granada. Their second in 5 games. All dynasties end and Barca might be on the verge of the tail end of theirs. Messi, Suarez, Rakitic, Pique, Bisquits and Vidal all well into their 30s now. Even the best players don't escape father time.

Also one wonders how long Valverde will last. He's already on a short leash I imagine.

Messi's still got it, the others are slowly declining, Suarez more so than the rest. I don't think they needed Griezmann, and even though Coutinho wasn't killing it there like he was at Liverpool, they could have used him this season.

It's good that Valverde is trying to integrate a lot of youngsters but it's costing them big time. They've already got a few new signings and they're starting inexperienced players like 16 year old Ansu Fati, Alena (to a lesser extent), Perez, etc. Even Dembele is overrated imo. They've either got ageing players now in their 30's, or youngsters being thrown in at a high level.

They have still got good young players like Lenglet, Arthur, Griezmann and Alba still has some years left in him but they need some reinforcements. I think if they had Neymar up front again it would make a massive difference.

Valverde had no reason to be hired at Barcelona. He was a moving failure and they just needed an ex-player of theirs to be a yes man with one of the strongest teams in the world. All he had to do is let Messi play where and how he wanted and the rest would follow. If they had a serious manager they'd have 5 more Champions Leagues in this past decade.

I don't know if Barca is finished or if Valverde sucks but all these austistic Barca fans screeching #valverdeout are the most spoiled little brats I've seen. Either way I think Real Madrid are shit and Atletico don't possess the same solidity that they did in previous seasons. I still think Barca will eventually put it together and win another rather uneventful title race.

Most of the other Barca coaches since Rijkaard were following Barca philosophy.... Valverde clearly doesn't. Some of the players are used to different kind of football. And clearly as Brehme says, they could've won a lot more titles with a different coach.
