Barcelona are close to signing Daniel Alves on a free transfer.

Not a single Brazilian club wanted him, yet Barcelona wants him

Contract was terminated in September because Sao Paolo hadn't paid him. Even at 38, so much to benefit from with his addition to squad, he was one of standout performers along with Antony in Olympics and MVP of Copa in 2019

I remembered recently Manuel Pellegrini labeling La Liga as a disgrace - that it's the slowest league in Europe, with the least amount of football played, and the most time spent diving and time-wasting.

I've been paying much more attention to La Liga this season than previous years (entirely due to a mix of betting and working from home) and I have to say, he's completely right.

The time wasting and shithousing is obscene. The football itself is turgid and sporadic, and there's a ludicrous amount of draws. I had a look at the numbers and La Liga has I think 46 draws (30%) out of the matches played so far (15 matchdays). The EPL is not much better with 38 draws after 14 matchdays (27%). Interestingly, Serie A has the least amount of draws with 26 after 15 matchdays (17.3%).

Of the 20 La Liga teams, a ludicrous 9 teams have scored a ratio of 1, or less than 1, goal per match. EPL is again in the middle with 6 teams having a 1:1 or worse ratio of goals per game. Serie A has just 3 teams which have scored equal or less than a goal per game - and you have to go all the way down to 16th place to find them whereas in the other leagues you have plenty of top-half teams like this.

There's absolutely no way I can say this without coming across like a tyical "my league is better than your league" guy, but naturally you pay a lot more attention when you bet frequently and Jesus I've been shocked and bored out of my fucking mind watching La Liga this season.

Wonder about the amount of penalties in each league because I remember looking at them earlier and Serie A had a really high amount maybe that influences the goals per game stats. But anyways the quality of La Liga drops off drastically after a few teams.

Anyone following this CVC alternative loan deal Barca and Real are proposing? Looks like a good deal, a basic loan with cheap interest. No wonder Barca is suddenly in the market for new players (Ferran Torres, Adeyemi, Arthur Cabral, etc).

I find Athletic Bilbao to be the biggest offenders of this garbage football in La Liga today (actually Getafe are the worst, but Athletic Club are more successful) and these draw merchants already have 9 draws and just a pathetic 13 goals scored in 16 games played.

So I've designed this experiment where every single Athletic Bilbao game I will bet 50 cents on a draw and 50 cents on a 1 - 1 exact score result. I expect to be at a net profit at the end of the season but I'll report back in May 22. So far I'm 50c up :einstein:

Basically la liga clubs recieve 2bn loan from top banks like Bank of America and JPM over 25 years with a 3% interest rate. Looks like a better deal than the CVC to me (20 years instead of 50) and ESL, but my question is how will it be implemented?

Sounds like a great idea to be fair, although unfortunately I smell corruption all over it! Thank you for explaining.

Its kinda the same idea that some DMs play as CBs like Mascherano did a while back, because now defenders need to be able to pass, control the ball etc, not that Kondogbia did any of that well but u get the point.
