There you go, if you'd just put the armband on Lautaro at the beginning of 2021, he wouldn't have then gone on to then miss 50 (FIFTY!) percent of his penalties.
1) You see a lot of players in that video who, aren't captains of Inter go and apologize to the fans. Whether you're wearing a piece of fabric or not doesn't magically prohibit or keep you from being accountable to travelling, paying supporters.
2) Also, whether you're wearing a piece of fabric or not shouldn't keep you from doing your outmost. If that's sincerely your point, then that's one of the most stupid excuses I've ever heard. If Lautaro can't do his outmost without the armband - which, as we've seen, is clearly not the case - then the solution would be to sell him, not give him the armband.
He might be a leader in this locker room, but that tells you more about the locker room than it does Lautaro. He is not, or at least shouldn't be considered captain material if things were better.
