10 years of FIFI don't like that similar salary part. That would strongly point at him staying as a starting CB.
We can't have De Vrij as starting CB unless we lower our defence line and do the Conte ball by furiously defending our box. I don't know do we want to go there and can we win with such tactic (with Inzaghi leading us).

I`m sure Pastorello would be happy to get him a better deal, but the club is probably banking on his resilient personality (and almost entire career in Serie A).
Club is not desperate in this case: he can stay on a lower salary (matching his performances TBH) or leave. Will be 31 in February and still has some good years in him.

You can have him for €15m. Add it to the Skriniar & Bastoni extension fund. Move Skriniar to the middle spot and find a fast, strong, ball-playing RCB. Someone like Antonio Silva (GOAT potential imho), Simakan, Scalvini (maybe even Okoli?) etc. I miss playing FM.

6 more months, he might extend or go elsewhere during that time as well. Kind of like why we paid for Eriksen. Happens all the time. €15m might be steep though.
