Not sure if sarcastic but do we need more experience with Acerbi (35) De vrij (31) and Darmian (33)? Also in terms of numbers i think we re set if we get a Scalvini would make it 4 true CBs and Darmian and Dambro who if they play play CB more often than not.. So 6 players for 3 positions

yea.

Ideally I’d like to have Bastoni-Acerbi-Scalvini as starters with De Vrij, Darmian, experienced CB, D’Ambro as rotation. I’d rather us use an experienced CB that doesn’t need to play over sparsely using a young prospect.

Acerbi, De Vrij and Koulibaly is just to much for my taste. De Vrij and Acerbi are both only usable as the most central cb and I suspect Koulibaly is the best there too.

Unbelievable decision if we are really after Koulibaly and going to extend Acerbi too…. Certainly for the wages all the above will earn too.

In all honesty, De Vrij has been good this season since becoming a backup player. I just hope the salary is not too high.

Ideally we would get younger and better options, but it's not easy for our management team to work with this budget. It does seem like we tried (or are trying) for younger options given links to Scalvini and Chalobah, but the most we can do seems to be loan with option or offering some young players in return. That won't work with Chelsea, so maybe a Koulibaly loan is just a more feasible option as I saw that Chelsea expect 25 million or more from Chalobah and we just can't make that investment at this point in time.

Also, losing Skriniar, D'Ambrosio, and De Vrij could mean difficulties in getting 3 replacements so De Vrij's extension makes more sense than extending D'Ambrosio.
