Hahaha apparently he’s injured and won’t play against Lazio...no shock. This is ridiculous lol, it must have been in his contract that he can’t play against them

This guy has a strage way to show his loyalty. Would we have a similar situation if we ever ended up playing against Feyenord?

I am pretty sure he didn't play the other game even though he was fit so its not far fetched to think he's not actually injured

I think he made a promise to Lazio or to Lotito not to play against them and apparently Ausilio and Spalletti agreed. I think it is a good thing that there are players who act like that today. As long as he gives all of his best in the other matches, I don't really see any problem with this.

Spalletti said that he intentionally didn't use him to avoid insults from Lazio fans in the first leg. I imagine he would say so again if that was the case, no need to fake an injury that will leave him out not only against Lazio but also whatever the next fixture is.

So, there was some surprise when Spalletti left de Vrij off the teamsheet in a massive game against his former club on Monday.

Spalletti has gone on to explain his decision following the 3-0 victory, saying he wanted to protect the Dutch defender from the potentially hostile crowd. “It’s a question of the atmosphere,” Spalletti said after the match. “There was no need to have him whistled by the entire stadium. Rambo Koeman called it since the beginning, De Vrij picked up "a groin problem" during training with the National Team (hopefully it's not related to pubalgia/chronic pain) and the results of our exams revelead an issue with the adductor muscle.
I see no conspiracy around his absence, just coincidence, the aftermath of the Derby and some discretion.

I'd look instead into the injury of Lautaro: a former Lazio player like Scaloni started El Toro twice in three days.
Being in the coaching staff, Samuel should have done something about it.

We lose goalscoring threat with him. Miranda is better defensively but it's not like we need a good defence against Chievo, Empoli, more likely troll goals from corner kicks since we cannot score from open play anyway.

Not a chance, while Dumbo gives you advantages in that position he also gives you major disadvantages as shown in yesterday's match, the goal was his fault. Skriniar-De Vrij- Godin will be the best back line in Italy no doubt
