Those reports which included 30m€ I think they had Gravillon included in the figure or something. He's out of this deal so I think the option to buy is set up to 20-25m€. And we pay 5m€ for the loan. And Sala went to Sassuolo today for 5m€.

20+5 is equivalent to signing him now, if we're using 5 year deals.
anything different (more fee, shorter deal), means this makes it cheaper this season, more expensive in subsequent ones

The rationale for this deal structure is as follows:

1. FFP neutral loan: The 5m loan fee is canceled out by the transfer fee (profit) we get from selling Sala for 5m.

2. Option to buy: The fact that we are getting an option to buy for 20m instead of an obligation means that we want to check out Sensi to see if he can adapt to play for a bigger club. This has little to do with FFP, because if we had paid 25m cash now our amortisation cost for this year would have been 5m which is equal to the loan fee. So there is no difference from an FFP point of view, apart from the fact that we now can decide not to take our option.

Its a smart way to do business. Try the product before you buy.

Actually that Sala fee is FFP positive. It was done yesterday which was still June => last day of the fiscal year. We got 5m€ capital gains for last year's books. 5m€ loan fee goes to this year's budget and it won't go to the balance sheet because we don't have an asset to put there, we are just loaning it. Of course FFP-wise doesn't make much difference though, because we're out of SA where capital gains/losses where followed more closely. Now it's just profit/deficit of max -30m€ for the cumulative 3 year time periods.

As cafe points out, the Sala fee is being booked for FY 18/19, not 19/20, so it doesnt negate the Sensi transfer that will be happening 19/20.

Like I said above, only in a case of a 5 year contract with a 5+20m fee is it irrelevant. Anything more than that (fee wise) or less than that (contract wise), we are booking less CapEx this year, but more in future seasons.

The other aspect is that recent FFP changes mean any loan+obligation is considered as a full transfer in the season it happened, anyway. That's because of clubs like us using loan+obligation to get around our compliance.

So, yes, it is quite strongly because of FFP.

Let's assume its a 5 year contract:

5mil fee now with 25mil over 4 years = 6.25 per year over 4 years

30mil now over 5 years = 6mil a year

We're slightly reducing our costs this year (And, as ever, if he does sign outright for us, we'd probably extend his contract anyway to decrease impact)

How good is he? Politano good (5.5/10) or better?

Great signing #12

Gravillon is not included in this deal.

It's 5m loan fee, we send them Sala for the same amount and there's a 20m clause.
We sold Sala to Sassuolo for €5m, correct, but I read €5m loan + €25m option to buy [bet will be triggered]. He is the regista we were lacking for years! You guys will be surprised how smart and technical Setafano is ;) Very happy for this transfer! We`re back on track :datass: now let`s close Barella as well.

Stefano Sensi has chosen the number 12.

Looking how Milan and Roma are in a bidding war for Veretout ( with Rome offering 3mln salary), i'm happy with Sensi.

How the fuck can Roma offer such salaries? They are suppose to cut the costs drastically now that they are out of CL.

Sounds like loads of bullshit with these 3M salary offers (for Barella, Veretout etc.).

De Zerbi coached the 23-year-old at Sassuolo last season and described him as an all-rounder, before revealing the advice he gave him ahead of his big transfer.

“Stefano is not just a play-maker, he’s a complete player and a real man,” De Zerbi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It doesn’t matter what position you play him in because he knows what to do everywhere. He has technique and intelligence and plays with confidence, finding solutions before others do. I’ve told Sensi he needs to be humble when he enters Inter’s dressing room for the first time, but also that he needs to impose himself on the group. When you move to clubs like Inter you have to try and establish yourself there, but Stefano has the personality and all the qualities to do so. He could be a key player for them. He will be able to express all his talent under a coach like Conte.” :datass:

Sassuolo have sold young Italian international midfielder Stefano Sensi to Inter Neroverdi CEO Giovanni Carnevali told Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport in an exclusive interview. Carnevali stated that the club do not sell more than maximum one or two players each transfer window and when they do so they only sell to bigger clubs.
“I am saying this whilst laughing but we are not a supermarket. It is an honor but every year we sell at most one or two of our players but only to big clubs because the players are happy here.”
“If there is a goodbye, it is right to move on to grow, we certainly do not lower our bar in terms of quality, for example Sala, who was part of the deal with Inter, is an example of this. Of all the youngsters that people were talking about, he was the name that was at the top of our list.”

“In all honesty, we sold Sensi to Inter in order to finance the construction of the Mapei Center.”
